hiked a large portion of slieve league in May. the initial portion of the trail is very easily identified and marked, however the deeper you go, the less beaten the path is and it can get quite treacherous. I highly suggest wearing appropriate hiking attire, having hiking poles, and a pack with extra clothes and food/water as it can get... More

It was a bit of a hike, and I probably wouldn't come to this corner of the country just for the cliffs, but the views were amazing! The locals informed us, though, that we were lucky to get a day with some sun and that it had been socked in by fog that time of the year. It had been... More

The views over Slieve Leauge are really stunning! You must see it! It's one of Irelands most famous and dramatic naturesight. If you want to hike, you can hike One Man's Pass, very hard terrain, like very steep hills, uneven ground and a lot of rocks. You have to have water, food, rain wear and hiking shoes with you and... This place far exceeds the Cliffs of Mohr. The scenery is spectacular without being subjected to tourism. If you're not afraid of heights you can walk beyond the set paths right up to the top. A must see when visiting Donegal. The drive around the area is also worth it.

Stopped here in passing a few years ago but only went as far as the viewpoint due to the others we were with. Always wanted to go back and explore further, and finally we did! We hiked on roughly 2+1/2 miles from top car park. The terrain was interesting to say the least! Not for the faint hearted, and I'd... More

Yes you will be blown away by both the vistas and the wind on Sleive League in Co Donegal .The walk up from the lower carpark is great alone then the views across the bay unreal. This place is exposed so be careful with young children in this area. Desmond Daly Photography.

Three years ago my wife and I went to see the cliffs at Slieve League. We were not prepare to hike up the cliffs at that time. This year I took the Pilgrim Walk up the mountain which is on the back side. It is a moderate 2.5 km hike but the views when you get to the top are... More

We travel for about one hour but it was totally worth it. Our B&B host told us to stop at the gate, unlock and drive trough and to close the gate behind us so the sheep didn't get out. We parked halfway up just so we could enjoy the views and the easy walk up. They were amazing. The cliffs... More

Slieve League finally! We had tried to visit in the past and couldn't due to inclement weather. We have a glorious sunny day with just a slight breeze. The drive up is somewhat stressful for the driver. Hubby was saying how beautiful, magnificent the view was, my reply, I'm just keeping my eyes on the road. Making it the top,... More
