A Great Way to Begin Our Visit

We started our visit to Stockholm with a canal tour which gave us a good layout of the land. They offer headsets in numerous languages. Fun cruise that lasted about 1 1/2 hrs.

Took a guided boat tour around town that went through a lock, on into a lake. Really some beautiful scenery that you may not access to by a walking tour.

While our visit in January the canals were frozen and it gave the sight seeing around the city a nice touch. Though no offence, but they're not comparable to the canals of Venice, Amsterdam or Bruges. You won't miss them, they are all over the old town.

The most beautiful parts of Stockholm are all of the narrow streets and bridges that weave along and over the canals. There are so many beautiful bridges, colorful row houses, old churches, and other sights to see that you'll enjoy the journey without worrying about the destination.

Walking around Gamla Stan, over the bridges and the canals is a must when you are in Stockholm. After, all Stockholm is the Venice of the North!

The Stockholm Canals are just like the ordinary canals that are found in many parts of the world. No way it can be compared to the canals in Venice.

The Stockholm canals (as well as all the bridges and islands), on which the city is built upon, are an awesome sight. I am fortunate enough to live in Stockholm close to the canals and waters, so I see them daily. Still, I am always impressed by the beauty of the city, the canals, and the beautiful, old buildings. Stockholm is built on its canals and its not possible to miss them. They are beautiful. I enjoyed crossing the different canals and the views across the city. I only spent a day in Stockholm I would have loved to have time to linger and see more.
