Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Skeppsholmen is a tiny islet perfect for walking. The Modern art museum was wonderful as was the Asian museum and the kids' toy museum. We stayed at the Hotel Skeppsholmen on the island for great views in an urban oasis surrounded by city. The nightly walks home over the lamplit-bridge afforded panoramic views and set a very romantic stage for lovers.

one of the small islands in Stockholm we walked the perimeter for an evening walk in the sun. Vehicles seem to be limited which made for a nice chilled walk. It won’t take you long. The top side of the island is home to a number of historical boats which are tied up on the quayside. Quite a range of boats of which all have an info board on what role they played, where they were built etc.

Ship's Island (Skeppsholmen) used to be the Naval Base for more than four centuries including shipbuilding and docks. This all ended in 1969 when the base moved into the archipelago. I myself did most of my conscription service here and worked in the small pink castle like building with cute turrets. That used to be the HQ. Now the island is known for its museums (Modern, Architecture, East Asiatic) and a popular hostel in an old sailing ship (Chapman). It's good for strolling and has a number of old boats at its quays with interesting information on plaques.

Quiet island with great views and several museums. Interesting to look at the renovated boats, too.

Close to the city but yet far enough to get away from the city noise, a must visit if you are talking a walk in Stockholm city center and are looking for a peaceful place to relax. Find a bench or a lawn, sit down and enjoy the view of boats cruising around.

Several museums are located in this part of Stockholm. Very green in summer, close to the water, out of town feeling! Usage of the taxi is from 15 Eur every time you want to go to the centre. So take this into account.

Wonderful charming quiet little island in the center of Stockholm. The best is to go for a walk along the water on the left hand side after the bridge when you arrive on the island, there are many beautiful old boats on display and you'll find a really good restaurant/cafe after 5 to 10 minutes walk, which has a lovely terrace in the summer.
Don't miss the modern art museum nearby, and if you don't want to go inside, go at least around it and you'll see outside the colorful fountains and sculptures of Niki de St Phalle, Tinguely and Calder.

Skeppsholmen is a beautiful park-island in the very center of Stockholm. It offers a very special environment, including relaxing walking area and good restaurants, as well as a great view on the city bay, including the Royal Place.

Five museums, an active waterfront, boat (and bus/cab/walk) service to and from, historic naval buildings and lovely views both toward Stockholm and the archipelago. Try lunch at the Hotel Skeppsholmen while you're there.
