The main reason for the visit was to see a performance of "Nixon in China". I have seen an excellent production elsewhere, but the Stockholm production was even better. Having not visited this opera house for several years it was good to be reminded of its elegant interior.

The building from the outside is not particularly notable, but the inside is another matter. While not as elaborate as the Opera Garnier in Paris or the State Opera in Prague, it's elegant, tasteful & worth seeing. Saw "Nixon in China" & the acoustics & sightlines were outstanding. The building is in the best part of Stockholm and has a... More

I saw Midsommarnatts dröm here. Lovely gold foaje, great atomsfere during the breaks. Lovely play with loads energy put into the crew, lights and effects. Always love to walk inside the goldroom and have a glas of bubbel water.

Sweden's Royal Opera is magically beautiful. I recommend everyone to visit our National Opera and ballet / modern dance. Today's performance was the "Barber of Seville" and everything from directing, actors, conductors and musicians were fantastic! Thanks! // Mats Samaras, Stockholm, Sweden

In a nice area of town. Didn't have anything gong on when we were there, but still neat to look at. Would be fun to see something live there I bet!

What a great place! Not only beautiful but full of action with bars and areas that offer a great view of the city. Very lively place. If you have a chance to take a tour, do it! Worthwhile if you are not actually going for a performance. Great food too!

It's a gorgeous building situated on a grand square in which complementary architecture is present. The facade is delightful, classically inspired reflecting the timeline of its establishment. A great equestrian sculpture is the middle of the square, in front of the opera. It is a panoramic scene with them both in sight.

If you like to visit the Opera, you should absolutely plan to visit this beautiful opera-building in Stockholm. I try to go at least every third month and still am breath taken when I enter the building. You want to treat yourselves? Pre-book a glass of champagne or cava in the golden Salong for the break. I promise you, you... More

When you look at it from the outside is tarnished and it doesn't give any idea of what you can see inside. Stepping in... that is another story, is glamorous and beautiful. And worth a visit.
