About
ABBA The Museum is more than an ordinary museum. Naturally, the members’ costumes, gold records, original items, memorabilia, and much, much more are here. But at this museum you are an important part of the experience! We simply want you to experience the feeling of being the 5th ABBA member. To find out what you would look like in their legendary stage costumes, to sing at the Polar Studio, to experience exciting 3D avatars, and to enter the stage together with the band.

- Jackie TMinnesota81 contributionsIf you're a fan, you'll love thisWe spent a few days in Stockholm and I really wanted to see this. I grew up in the 70s-80s and was a big fan of ABBA songs. This museum is big and has a TON of history, background, videos, interactive exhibits, memorabilia, photo ops, karaoke booths, on stage opportunities and much more. Everyone enjoyed it.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 September 2023
- BaydeNoc186 contributionsBlast From The PastMy wife and I spent a couple hours in the museum and enjoyed it very much. Well laid out and lots of displays. Visitor participation with the avatars was fun to watch. Pleasant ride over on the water bus from central city.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 September 2023
- Suzie JBishops Stortford, United Kingdom49 contributionsAbbasolutely FantasticA rainy day in Stockholm & this was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Very informative with regards to the history of the group. Costume displays were interesting too - however the Interactive areas were so much fun. Definitely worth a visit!Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 September 2023
- taj616Appleton, Wisconsin282 contributionsThis Museum Takes It AllI have loved Abba since I was a kid listening to the 8-tracks my mom played in the car. So you can imagine this was the first thing I wanted to see in Stockholm. It did not disappoint for me. We purchased tickets online for our time (opening) heading the what I read that it was a smaller museum and it filled up fast. We got in right away/on time. Loved reading about this band’s history and seeing the photos, costumes, listening to the music. Yes, I sang with the virtual version of them because…DUH! You HAVE to!! LOL A fan’s dream, even if I was uncoordinated in my choreography. I felt the museum was completely worth it - but YES - definitely go early before it gets too busy so you can enjoy it before it gets too busy.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 September 2023
- onlytravellerVienna, Austria19 contributionsFun for everyoneWe had the best time as a group of 19 years old girls who grew up listening to (and still love) ABBA! The museum was really fascinating and we learned a lot about the band and members themselves (and their solo music as well!) and had the best time singing and dancing in studio and stage simulations! It was relatively crowded but it wasn’t that bad since we got our tickets in advance.. IMO definitely “a must” experience in Stockholm!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 September 2023
- jacobkingsMaidstone, United Kingdom350 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic! You must do this while in Sweden! No matter if you’re an ABBA fan or not, you will enjoy it! There’s so much to see and do inside the museum. It’s all set out perfectly, with loads of original ABBA outfits, vinyls and loads more! You can even become the 5th member of ABBA too! Reasonably priced and great fun! Definitely recommend.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 29 September 2023
- John KitchingGreater London, United Kingdom1,198 contributionsVoulez Vous?Located near the Vasa museum, this museum covers the history of the band, their careers after they split up and the avatar London Voyage show. If you do not remember Abba or are not that interested in them it is not for you. For me and my wife it was a trip down memory lane. Not that large a museum so you can cover everything in just over an hour. You can sing along and dance along and watch old films and footage.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 September 2023
- Joey_Hols45 contributionsAbba-tastic!A fantastic experience and wonderful costumes and information about the legendary Swedish band. Some really enjoyable interactive elements as well. Nice bar inside the venue. Only minor disappointment/surprise was the size of the gift shop and range of products, but overall a fantastic visit.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 October 2023
- Karl ATallinn, Estonia40 contributionsGreat place if you an ABBA fanThe museum is modern, quite big and if you were a fan of ABBA then probably this is a must go place and you wont be dissapointed. However IF you are not soso big fan, it might be a bit boring. Karaoke with holograms was great and funny experience, however there could have been more active experiences one could take part in and a little less reading material.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 October 2023
- Kathy GPonte Vedra Beach, Florida105 contributionsABBA - great museum and tribute.$26 for admission. Lots of costumes, theatre with movie playing about how ABBA came about, go on stage and sing along next to ABBA, recording studio, etc. If you are an ABBA fan, this is a must see. Great gift shop, something for everyone. A+Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 November 2023

If you like ABBA then you will love this museum. It has all the costumes, you can sing along, you can pretend like you are recording. It has loads of information about the individual members. You can sit down in a movie theatre and watch them on their Australian tour. It also has a hotel attached to it, a lovely bar and restaurant. We had lunch before we ventured in and it was delicious and when finished we had a drink at the bar. I recommend it to anyone who loves their music, even if you don't you will once you have been here.

I was dragged kicking and screaming to the Abba Museum but found some of the history that surrounds the band and individuals associated with it, quite interesting. Firstly you need to buy your tickets online. It pays to buy them a few days ahead if you want a specific timeslot. You do not need to print them as the QR Code on your phone is fine. Take the tram there as it stops right outside. Tram tickets can be bought onboard but with one quirk. If there are more than one of you, you can only buy one ticket with one particularly credit card. So two of you will need two separate cards. Wierd I know!
The museum itself has been expanded to include a Mamma Mia section. Lots of photo opportunities. It will take you about an hour or so.

Loads of positives - the whole ABBA story is exceptionally well presented and documented and if you take the time to read through the posted texts by the exhibits you will really take something away with you. There are also some fun activities if you wish to participate and we found the whole experience to be innovative and well worth the time and money. One or two slight drawbacks exist - the entrance and ticket purchase area is a little chaotic"trafficwise" and deadly if cruise ship parties are in the house! This is one attraction we did not book on line in advance and had to wait 20 minutes to buy a ticket and an extra 45 minutes for a slot. Even with restricted entry numbers per time slot, the rooms, which are quite small, were rather crowded. Definitely recommend making an on-line prior reservation and despite the wait, we walked out very happily!

No need to buy skip the queue tickets (if they do offer it) - I have been 3 times at different times of the year and there has never been a queue.
You would really enjoy if it if you are an ABBA fan. The history, their childhood, the career to being world famous, they are all documented in the museum in a way that is engaging. I like the fact that the band does its own narrative, it makes it more personal.
Have they done it with the most advanced technology like things that you would see in the US, definitely no but that’s also the charm of Sweden in a way.
The most fun I find are all the interactive stations where you can be a DJ, sing in a studio, dance on stage ....as long as you are shy!
One should definitely visit when in Stockholm.

A Great rainy day museum experience in Stockholm. Fun for all the family, music, dance, video and interactive activities.
Take the audio guide to get the best experience. Really well laid out story told by the original band members, as you travel through the museum plus costumes videos and music.
Great for real Abba fans, as well as those who simply like the music.

I liked the museum but since I am someone who is very easily overstimulated, I also went kind of crazy inside. I can imagine spending 1+ hour inside, but because there are multiple videos and songs playing in every room, there is a lot of noise and a lot of stimuli. I will definitely recommend this museum to my extroverted friend but will warn people with ASS (and similar disorders) that it is an intense experience. I advised the staff to hang up a sign to avoid possible crises in the future. But very nice museum and staff!

I was so impressed with the artivacts and the activites available. Everything tied together to tell the story of one of the most successful and well known groups of the '70s. Their music continues to be popular today, and this museum is perfect for all ages.

If you’re an ABBA fan then this a MUST visit when visiting Stockholm but make sure you leave plenty of time. I spent over 4 hours in the museum as I wanted to look at and read everything. There’s also plenty of interactive things to do as well including singing and dancing with the band, quizzes and having a go on the mixing decks amongst others. The option to record a song was unfortunately not available on the day I visited.
If you’re not an avid fan it’s still great and 2 hrs might be enough, but for those that are then plan for longer and book in advance with the option of an audio guide. The guide was excellent and really enhanced the experience but when I went (Friday afternoon) there were no guides available for people just turning up on the day.
All in all - a great day out

Walk in Dance out........they aren't joking. Not a massive Abba fan, well thats what I thought........great fun. Even did the bit where you can sing on stage with the group! I was surprised by the very eclectic mix on people , young to old and from totally different backgrounds! Forget male bravado, every one is tapping there foot, humming and just enjoying it. Even a guy I saw who would have looked better placed having fights with biker gangs!......still singing along to himself!

The first museum we visited upon arrival in Stockholm. Of course they milk every photo, guitar and mic that has anything to do with the famous 4, but you can do some karaoke, dancing, sound mixing, and in total spend 2 hours having a lot of fun. For some it is a walk past memory lane, and for the youngsters it a time machine, a peek into time a not so long ago, when people were global celebrities even without mobile phones, internet or reality shows.

Hi, i plan visit museum on 3th of December, but unfortunately is not possible to buy online tickets on your website. Can you please help me or let me know if is museum open or not?
Thanks a lot
Written 5 November 2023
From what I can tell the museum is open 365 days a year. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm during your stay. I wouldn’t worry about buying tickets online because it is offseason in December. You can buy at the entrance. Quick & easy. Enjoy and plan on spending some time there. There’s a small theatre half way through with a long documentary about ABBA. It’s very interesting and I would recommend sitting through the whole film.

I saw online that it is cashless, is that the shop as well?
Written 26 February 2020
Hi Estella dsp,
Thank you for your question and I am sorry for the delayed reply!
The museum is cashless and that includes both tickets and the shop.
Welcome to ABBA The Museum!

We have already booked tickets. Arriving by cruise ship. Any advice on best way to get to the museum? Cost of a taxi?
Thanks in advance. 😀
Written 13 August 2019
From my most recent experience, I took the Ferry from City Centre to where theme park/vasa is and it was fast but on the way back it stopped close to where the cruise ships were. We used the scooters all over the city, it was easy and cheap. There are bike/scooter lanes all over. It doesn’t take long to reach that side and you see so much more. There are bridges all over. I had initially thought it would be hard. But I was back in forth through the day. You’ll have a wonderful time.
