After a cultural day in Stockholm with 2 kids under 10, we decided it was time for kids to let off their energy. And Bryggartappan was my number 1 choice. Bryggartappan sits in a quiet residential area, not far from the walking street with popular cafes and restaurants (Pascal etc.). We went on a Sunday morning and met with lots of local families with strollers. Yes, the place is more suitable for young kids age 3-6 years old. Don’t expect them to learn much about the life of Stockholm in the olden days. But the facilities do provide safe, imaginative and challenging space for kids. They can spend a good hour or two here. The area itself is very green and parent-friendly. It has a small coffee/ice cream stand and lots of benches under cool shades. The playground is gated and all facilities are strong and sturdy. If you want to explore a quieter side of Stockholm or want some time to yourself (with kids in the background), Bryggartappan is a good choice. …

Bryggartäppan is just a playground, but it's definetely worth paying a visit when walking in Södermalm! It is like a little Skansen, with small hand-made wooden houses. Very cosy and meaningful, inspired by Per Anders Fogelströms book about old Stockholm. Children love to play there, and parents may find something inspiring for themselves. If not citations from the book, then coffee and fika :) Really, very Swedish, very Södermalmish, very nice place. More up-to-date and authentic than many "real" touristic objects, really.…
