Nice to go on a guided tour in this painter's house but in general overrated I would say. The Zorn house in Mora I find much more interesting! Unfortunately you are not allowed to take photos inside.

This is a great place to visit on a nice, sunny day. I felt like I was in one of Carl Larsson paintings when I was there. Many of his scenes from his paintings are taken from his house and surrounding area. I did not go inside his house as we went when they were closing, but I walked around... More

The house is maintened like it was when the painter lived. The beautiful garden and all the property still belong to the family that keep them in good way. It is a pleasure to walk through, to have a coffe (or something else) in the coffee shop and to buy something in the shop.

We were booked into and English speaking tour by friends in the neighbourhood: Holger, our guide, turned out to Carl Larson's great great grandson. The tour was excellent and the house/studios were really interesting. For non Swedes so context around his portfolio of output would have been great: it was not restricted in any way and guests feel the 'full... More

Carl Larsson's house is more or less untouched and you recognise the interiors and exteriors from the famous pictures. Unfortunately the family - who still owns the place - had decided to use half of the house for private use the day we were there, so we only got to see a fraction of the house, but we were charged... When you visit this painters home you can also tour his garden. Very quiet and quaint place. Enjoyed the visit to his home as well. Short drive outside of Falun.

House and the exhibit in the nearby flour mill were excellent. Got a very good sense of the type of family man he was

The visit to Carl Larsson's home was long-time dream come true. Special thanks to the artist's grandson grandson who guided us.

Excellent museum with display of art, textiles and way of life. Firstly had a tour with an English speaking guide then to another building where it was a self directed tour but explanation in both Swedish and English.

The house, and the life of the family, got a bit light on them. Very nice area indeed, the red wooden houses, the old(-ish)power plant creating a pond. So calm and nice. And the home of the family, equally nice. The old furniture, preserved the way it was back then. Really calm and even serene air to it, nice. That... More
