Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hard to find the actual entrance! Better signage needed outside. Inside staff are very friendly in ticket office/cafe. Lack of detailed information in English (QR codes do not work). Husband was more interested than me. 1.5 hours spent here.

Battleship, submarine and minesweeper, all decks completely open to visitors. An eyeopener to life as a crew member on such vessels.

20 ships of different types and sizes, access all areas. Includes a submarine which I must admit I found very interesting if not a little scary inside, would not like to be in one of these under the sea. You can easily spend a few hours here and is good for kids and adults alike.

This Maritime Museum was more than I expected. We were able to walk through many Swedish boats/ships from a submarine to a destroyer to a light ship. It was amazing to go inside these and explore on our own. Descriptions were in English. There were at least 9 to tour. The gift shop was lacking but the boats/ships made up for that. Other historical items were on the nearby dock such as a cannon, etc. Well worth the time to visit.

This floating museum has several civil (tugboat, ferry, fire boat) and military (patrol boat, monitor, submarine, destroyer) ships which you can explore. There are some restrictions on access (some compartments are closed off), but for the most part you can walk around, look at, and touch everything. For example, on the destroyer you can go on the bridge, CIC, mess halls, and engineering rooms, as well as look into the turrets and walk around the decks. On the submarine you can walk from the engine room to the torpedo room and everywhere in between. Guided tours of the destroyer are available in English, which we would recommend since the ship is very large and there is a lot to see. Keep in mind that these are all still floating, so there can be some motion from waves on the smaller ships. Additionally there are many cramped spaces and ladders needed to navigate around. Anyone who is interested in more recent naval history, and in particular cold war history, will find this very interesting, especially considering Sweden's place as a neutral country during these conflicts and learning about how they prepared for a possible global war from that perspective.

I spent maybe 40 minutes here with my 3yr old niece, most of that was spent on the destroyer. It was kind of hard to get around with her though as you use the stairs in the ships,as they’re steep and narrow. Plus she had to wear a life jacket. From what I saw all small children have to wear one.

Numerous ships to clamber over including a Lightship, Historic Monitor Battleship (minus superstructure), Freighter, Destroyer and Submarine. You need to be somewhat energetic - the destroyer had, I believe 14 levels, so there was a lot of climbing.
Access to the submarine is also tricky. Entrance is through a hatch in the deck at the stern down a 15 foot narrow vertical ladder. Inside is as you might expect quite confined (only 10 people allowed in at a time) and the exit is via similar ladder and hatch near the bow. Even if you miss the submarine, the remainder of the exhibits were still well worth the visti.

Lots of boats to visit, lots of things to see ! My father who is 81 was able to get around this site without problems ! But he didn't go into the sub as we were told this is small area and not a great place if you are carrying a few extra pounds ! But all the other boats were excellent ! We didn't give this enough time to see it all, you could spend a good day here we felt ! we had city cards which gives you free entry but we had so much to pack in just three short days we were on the run from one place to another ! Definitely worth a visit, even if you don't like boats it's amazing just what life must have been like to live and work on theses boats !
