A unique and gorgeous seafood restaurant in the midst of Gothenburg, along the canal. Great spot for lunch too,.

the fish church i would say is the highlight of Gothenburg. besides its nice architecture, the fresh seafood inside the 'church' was good. we got fresh salmon sashimi cut for us. also accepts credit card everywhere so no problem in getting whatever you prefer

From the outside indeed it looks like a church. Once inside you see a fantastic display of fish and sea food for sale. There were crayfish, crabs, salmon, herring, flounders in short all the local suspects. Very cool!

Quaint little building, really not much bigger than a large fish shop. It has several vendors and tiny restaurants inside. Selection is mostly shellfish but I suppose that may have been a seasonal thing. I bought a shrimp sandwich and sat outside to enjoy the...More

As a citizen of Gothenburg I have never understood the fame of this place. It is a few fish shops in a strange looking building. I buy my fish elsewhere.

This is a small, clean fish market with two (maybe 3?) attached restaurants. We found it to be much cheaper to order at one of the market counters and take it outside to the picnic tables. We still got the same specials as on the...More

Not only is the building itself iconic and historic, the fish sold inside are simply the freshest, most fantastic in Northern Europe. You’re not going to find better salmon: smoked, baked, filleted or otherwise. My local friend assured me every vendor selling inside is of...More

Had lunch here, a fish soup. The fish was fresh and tasty, and in a cream based sauce. The sauce was a bit on the salty side (then again, I found most restaurant meals in Gothenburg on the salty side).

Offers plenty fishmongers under one roof. Interesting architecture. Two or three fish restaurants, and some takeaways (you can eat outside the building on the steps or the picnic area).

I don't think either restaurant in the Fish Market takes reservations - just show up. If the weather is nice there is outdoor seating (we had downpour and thunder, so ate inside). There are a set menus for the restaurants.
