Jyppyra hill rises about 400 metres above sea level next to the village of Hetta. Our ancestors used to worship the spirits of the hill to guarantee a good hunt. A marked trail leads you from the Fell Lapland Nature Center to the top. Along the way you can explore the cultural history of Jyppyra and from the top you can admire the Pallas- Ounastunturi fell chain.

This is a nice short hike, if you are at the cultural centre. Very easy - well maybe a little bit steep if you're not very fit - otherwise accessible for all. Unfortunately it was snowing heavily so I wasn't able to enjoy the view,...More

I used snowshoes and followed the signposted trail to the summit hut with two young ladies and it took around 1.5 hours from the centre of town. Well worth a visit.

Worth the walk up from the centre to experience amazing views and hopefully a spectacular sunset. We considered returning to try and view Aurora, but the forecast wasn't good so we didn't. Worth carrying a few logs up to the lavu to light the fire!

It's just a short walk approximately 2 kilometers. At the top you have a nice view. And there is also a shelter with a place to make a fire, so don't forget to bring your sausages.

well, here was pretty much nothing to see. Go directly into nearbu national parks, if you want to enjoy the nature and views.
