Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely experience visiting the dog farm and getting to know the life on the farm. The interns who showed us around were very friendly and extremely kind. The best part was being able to pet and cuddle with the dogs, who were absolutely adorable. I bet the experience would be amazing in the winter with the possibility of sledding with the dogs.

Hi, I highly recomend Hetta Huskies. We did not go the huskies safari, but loved the farm. Anna (the owner) was ever so kind to us. We rented 2 Pjulken for a week. She helped us with everything. Showed us the farm too. They all work hard and look after their dogs well.
The staff was also very friendly, when we returned the Pjulks.
Took us by car to the hotel.
Really good place to start your Lapland adventure.

My first 30 km Husky sledding experience in Arctic circle.
Spent the entire day with Hetta Huskies - An award-winning sleddog entity which is also part of CAPE Lapland: Finland's Centre for Arctic and Polar Exploration.
The welfare of every single Husky is tracked including the number of km they run a day and every Husky is taken care off till they passed on naturally.
This is a great experience as technically you get to pick up your team members (Husky) from their kennel, harness them according to their colour code ( an indication of their build and ability to be the lead twin dog and leach them to your sled. You will also get an opportunity to outfit your own sled. An average built Husky runs about 60 to 70 km per day and Hetta Huskies has a regime of progressive training for these dogs. Summer are complete holidays for these Huskies.
Pls do support their work if you are in Enontekiö. You can also book a 5 days Husky expedition into the Arctic Tundra too.
Another tick off my bucket list today

It was a great trip and will stay an unforgottable event. From the start we felt heartly welcomed. The Crew really took care of us and checked our equipment. Afterwards we were allowed to support with the dogs before starting our journey. We enjoyed the Winterwonderland, dogs, nature - everything was perfect - like heaven on earth! Thanks a lot to all of you - also giving old dogs a good home! Hope we will join you once more in the future for a longer trip. Thanks a lot for having us with you.All the best for you.
If you have the change to do a husky safari I advise you to visit Hetta Huskies. The crew and team is perfect.

Its way too commercial! Traveling with two toddlers, we were hoping for a more intimate experience but ended up with a huge group (despite calling a day before wherein they confirmed it will be a small group). Be mindful that a bus full of tourists can sign up at the last moment too so if you are expecting a fun trip with children, you can be in for a surprise. Also, we booked the safari of 14:30 hours (Dec) but it was totally dark outside by then. So one is riding in the sleigh in total darkness without any view of the landscape and the only things visible are the headlamps of other riders. In my opinion one should only sign up for a safari between 10-2pm during winters when there is day light especially if you are traveling with kids. As a responsible business, they should not recommend this slot (post 2pm) for families with young kids but I guess business sense prevails over transparency. Almost all the kids we saw who went on this safari came back crying as it was too dark and too cold for them. After the safari one had an option of going to their warm cabin with a fireplace wherein they served berry juice and cookies which was the only saving grace of this disappointing experience!

We saw the team from Hettas Huskies twice during our Lapland trip; once during a TUI organised taster session and once on a 2km and taster we did at the farm. Both times the staff were amazing and friendly, the dogs are gorgeous and everything was well explained and safe. On the TUI taster you don’t drive the sled. Book with the farm directly for their trip and you do - they’ll even pick you up from the hotel (add on during direct booking process). We had to reschedule in resort because of changes in the TUI programme and it was easily accommodated - we even got to cuddle some husky puppies! Highly recommend - was our kids (age 5 and 9) favourite part of the trip!

AMAZING visit to Hetta Huskies! This was hands down the best experience so far in Lapland. The farm tour was really insightful and we learned about how the huskies are cared for and trained. We also got to ride around the 2km course. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. We also got to snuggle husky puppies that were just a few weeks old, which was so lovely. If you are staying in Hetta, visiting here is an absolute must!!

We took a farm tour at Hetta Huskies and learned all about one of the best husky farms in Finland. Before we arrived we read about Hetta's high ethical standards which made us even more happy to visit. Our guides showed us how they run the farm, care for the dogs, and train for sled running. The most surprising part of the tour was meeting the dogs. I expected them to be unfriendly but they have all been loved and socialized. We got lots of warm dog hugs and spent plenty of time scratching ears and backs. The dogs are lovely and happy and the farm tour was the highlight of our time in Lapland.

The Husky Safari was great, the people are very nice and are lovely to the dogs.
After the 20km we had a chance to see the other Huskys and to explore the Husky Farm. What´s special at the farm is that they offer to adopt retired Huskys.

Any chance of a reply.

Hi.
Apologies that you had no reply. We are actually a tiny company and when we are short of staff - which we have been since covid started - whatever time we have goes first on the dogs (everyday care, medical needs, training etc) and then on any of the many other things that need to happen to get the team functional, tracks prepared for winter, online booking possibilities made available etc. Until we hear the capacity need of the large companies our hands are tied in terms of answering emails so we wait until that point, figure out the remaining capacity for private tours, put tours available online and then start to work through emails in that order. Otherwise, all we can answer is 'we don't know yet'...I appreciate that when you are at the waiting end too, it is a bit frustrating.
Anyway, apologies again.

Hello I've emailed you a few weeks ago about booking some trips in December 2020 but I've yet to get a reply.

Hi there. Sorry about that. We are struggling to cope with requests for the next few days let alone for next season at present. (Our staff run tours all day and try to answer emails at night). 2B honest, it will be a while before we even think about safari timings for next Dec. since we need to find out the resource needs of our partner companies first...and they won't know that until the end of this season. Rest assured that we always have availability for short tours in December, but you will need to be patient until we have even a provisional calendar in place. Could you make a note to contact us again in, for instance, September? All the best. Anna
Wat zijn de prijzen en kun je dit ook daar ter plekke boeken?

Dear,
Could you please inform me on the possibilities for a 6km husky safari on Friday Feb 24th at night for around 12 people?
Thanks in advance for the information.
Kind regards,
Pauwel

Greetings. We didn't see this message, I am afraid. February is the height of the season and we struggle to just keep up with basic emails and phone calls, let alone all of the peripheral social media. Many apologies and I hope you enjoyed a husky ride anyway, either here or elsewhere.

Hi there,
Has anyone had any difficulty getting in touch with Hetta Huskies via email? I have sent two emails and one Facebook message trying to enquire about visiting in December, but I haven't heard back. Not sure if there is something wrong with their system or if I'm doing something wrong? I've been trying to contact them for over a month. I thought they may not be responding until peak season. I haven't tried calling yet as we are from Australia, but I could always do so.
Thanks,
Anna M

Hi Sarah...We have only one person who works on email enquiries (in-between feeding dogs, oiling sleighs etc) and she was away working with the refugees in Greece over the summer months, I am afraid. She is now back and working through a backlog of enquiries. However, she was told to start by working, first, through multiday enquiries and those short safari enquiries for times when we are less busy which we can actually answer affirmatively or negatively. For the small safari peak season enquiries, however, we essentially can't say anything until we have tied down the contract with the biggest area supplier - and we keep thinking that that will happen 'tomorrow' and then it doesn't. Hence, probably, the delay...Apologies. Just bear with us and we will answer ASAP, once we know how much availability we will actually have, in December. It generally isn't difficult to fit small safaris in, over a period of a few days, but we don't necessarily have capacity every day since that is the one month in the year when we may have up to 700 people visiting in any given day.
All the best.
Anna

Sorry guys..we have periods when we are flat out and the same people who are experienced enough to answer emails are also those literally out on the back of a dog team or snowmobile since we don't have a separate sales and safari team. We do it all - for c. 18 hours per day in peak season. Hence, it is sometimes just hard to keep up and juggle emails with responding to walk-in demands and pre-scheduled safaris.
