Amazing experience learning about the Sami culture while visiting a traditional family in their home. As reindeer herders, the Sami families raise and take care of their herds and that of fellow Sami herders as well. Their resilience and knowledge of what nature provides for them and ability to use it sustainably is truly inspiring. They make thread for sewing from reindeer tendons, fish scales to make purses, fish vertebrae as beads for crafts just to name a few. Highly recommend!

This was one of the highlight of our trip . Not only feeding the reindeer, but learning about the Sami culture. We learned about the push to save their langue and pass it on to their children, the conservation of the remaining old growth forests and raising reindeer. The most amazing thing I learned is that the is no word for war in the Sami language. That says a lot about the people.

We had such a lovely, interesting & cultural 2-hour visit to Angeli Reindeer Farm in January 2023. Our trip was part of a package organised by our Hotel, there were just 6 of us on the visit & it felt very personal. Anne was very welcoming, spoke excellent English, Finish & Sami & was so knowledgable. We were able to feed some of the reindeer & see them in their natural habitat. Not only did she tell us about the reindeer, herding & how they live, but also a lot about the local nature, the area and Sami culture. It was very thought-provoking. We were welcomed into her home for a hot drink & discussed some more about the local culture, shown traditional boots, pouches & other handicrafts she had cleverly made also. I would highly recommend visiting, thank you for your hospitality Anne & family.

If you are interested in the Sami culture and reindeer herding, this is the best experience! We were just with our own family. Anne was waiting in front of her beautiful house with food for the reindeers. We could fed them and Anne told us all about the reindeers and their way of living. Beautiful and friendly animals. After an hour we went inside for a warm drink and Anne told us all about the Sami culture, language and handicrafts. It was very interesting, Anne answered all our questions . Anne is a very warm and nice person, it is beautiful and unique experience. Thank you so much for your hospitality Anne!

We had a wonderful time visiting the reindeers and knowing more about the sami culture. Anne was very welcoming and it was so interesting to know more about samis and difficulties they have to safeguard their culture and way of life. Learning the effect of climate change on reindeer herding makes it also so concrete.
Anne was very welcoming and we had a lovely time feeding reindeers, some birds and taking a hot drink in their home discussing about local culture. I highly recommend the 2 hours visit since time go so fast. It is also a nice way to support local people and learn more about the place you visit.
One of the most powerful visit I had.

Visiting Anne and the dogs, birds and reindeers in her farm is one of our best experiences so far in Finland! In only an hour, thanks to a thorough, knowledgeable, charming and interesting host, we learnt so much about reindeers, winter birds and Sami life and culture. It was lovely watching the beautiful birds next to the lake, say hi to the dogs and feed the reindeers. Watching the reindeers in the forest in the beautiful morning light was something! If you are in Inari, do not miss this authentic and interesting experience off the beaten track! Thank you, Anne!

Thank you Maria and Jean-Philippe. We sure had an amazing rising light in the forest. I hope your pictures turned out great! For some people it is boring to see wild birds like Bullfinch but you and I wore thrilled and happy. Nice to meet like minded nature respecting person. Good luck for your adventures! All the best. Anne

What a nice and perfect choice we have made to come to visit Anna's place.
Anna is a very lovely person, who shares her way of life with confidence.
We are sure that the reindeers couldn't be more cared.
She can easily transmit her passion and it's such an honor to get everything she gives !
We can only recommand this place if you are looking for a local reindeer farm with the traditionnal mind and spirit.
We even could feed birds, coming into our hands to eat peanuts ! Unbelievable !
We are definitely coming again some days !
Thank you Anna and keep taking car of your lovely reindeers and your family !

A memorable experience to explore the spirit of local living, reindeer and small birds in a homely setting. Anne is a great guide, storyteller, mom, reindeer woman and a jewellery maker. Perfect destination especially for families who want to spend there euros wisely and responsibly supporting the local sustainable way of life and learn at the same time many interesting things about indigenous Sami culture.
