Siida is a central meeting place in Inari, the heart of the Sami Area in Finland. It is a window on Sami culture and the diverse nature of Northern Lapland. At Siida, you can acquaint yourself with changing exhibitions on culture, art and nature throughout the year. Siida offers the visitor both exciting experiences that appeal to many senses and expert knowledge. In the summer season, the indoor exhibitions of Siida are complemented by the cozy open-air museum. In addition to exhibitions, events that focus on culture and nature, as well as seminars, are arranged at Siida. At Siida, the National Museum of the Finnish Sami and the Nature Centre of Metsahallitus work together. The pleasant restaurant Sarrit serves customers on the second floor of Siida.

I could go back any time! The museum has gathered an enormous amount of information not only about the cultural things but also the arctic and Finnish nature. Most of the information is written information so you need to be awake to enrich your knowledge....More

This museum on the Lap culture is great to visit for two reasons: 1) The concept of explaining everything in a logical order 2) the details in English that make you understand and appreciate the special circumstances and live in the Nordic part of Europe....More

Sitting on the edge of Europe, one might not ever have come across Lapland's history. And even if one heard about reindeer before visiting Lapland, there is so much more history and culture one can learn about at this museum. Clearly a must.

A must do when in Inari. Fascinating history of its people presented in the most interesting and beautiful way. They have temporary exhibitions as well and when we went they were showcasing a local photographer

Interesting museum ! Beautiful exhibitions. The biggest hall is very informative, both about nature and Saami culture. The shop is well organized, the products are local and original. :) And the workers here are very nice :)

As it was February we were only able to visit the internal exhibition though ideally it would have been better if we could have done the outside as well. C'est la vie! Having said that we really enjoyed what we saw and ideally would have...More

Spent an hour or so walking through and the little shop, displays of Sami culture, and museum were all well done and educational. Exhibits were quite unique. Good way to begin exploring Inari.
