Well worth it

Really well set out museum. Lots to read about the area, the people and the traditions. Two hours wasn't long enough.

I visited the museum just wanting to kill an hour in Inari, I ended up spending all afternoon there. I was really surprised by the museum and all it had to offer. There is a permanent exhibition, the signs are a little small (likely as they provide so many language translations) and when it is busy it is hard to... More

The SIIDA museum was worthy of the entrance fee and we spent several hours perusing the beautiful displays. We also took in the free video presentation of the Northern Lights just in case we missed the real thing. This short film is excellent and well worth the 20 minute run time. I normally avoid gift shops in museums but the... More

We spent a few hours here. It's a great museum with lots of information on the Sami people. It's a good place to visit if you are interested in learning more about the Sami people and their way of life. There are also information about the different seasons of Lapland.

Great insight into the Sami people of Lapland - their history and culture. Excellent presentation of the aurora via film show too.

Fascinating, great displays. Interesting to have the full meal available. Don't forget to go outside and view the multiple structures built as reconstruction of how the Sami people lived.

Siida is a very nice museum that tells visitors the Sami, an indigeneous people in the Finnish Lapland as well as the seasonal cycle of arctic nature. You can easily spend an hour or two to go through many displays of artifacts, tools, attires and the general way of living of these people in the severe arctic weather. There is... More

Hello, Thank you for visiting Siida. We are happy that you liked it. Unfortunately the open-air museum outside is open officially only in summer, when it is possible to enter the buildings. In winter we just maintaine the trail, which goes around the area. The explanations of the buildings are outside, so it is possible to get information at any... More

You can drop by this museum when you on the way to Northern part of Finland. The museum shown how the older days of the people in Lapland survive during the extreme cold weather and the daily activities in this country .
