I was able to appreciate the difference in Marti, the northern light hunter and an avid photographer, versus the earlier 2 outings with another operators. He was actively driving and searching, or I should say , chasing for clear sky to secure higher probability of seeing the northern light NL. He made quick stops, making calls and searching the Internet app and he seems to have the chat network with similar NL hunters spreading around to achieve real time communication . The confidence in the operandi modus was really professional. He set up the camera and lens, scanning through the sky and achieved multiple hits with good blast of NL. I can see he enjoyed the wait , the hunt and more so , the astronomical photography. He would spare the entire night beyond his time for duty as he loves taking pictures of the sky. I would say my family had a great time , with incessant photo taking to our heart's content with the back drop of the beautiful AURORA BOREALIS. I thank him for providing this invaluable experience and indelible memory for the outing with my family.

Let me start off by saying that the snowmobile tour was good. It was quite slow and stop-start in the beginning, but then it picked up and we had a decent amount of time to go faster and really enjoy the ride.
I also want to add that the guides were friendly and had a lot on their plate, especially at the office which was hectic. They were helpful when it came to any issues on the snowmobiles. So kudos to them.
The frustrating thing was that we were picked up from our accommodation and didn't get on a snowmobile until 2 hours later, and that this was entirely unnecessary.
We were staying close to the snowmobiles, and we told the guide that we had our own winter gear upon pickup (we were not asked about this in advance). Despite this we were transported to the Nordic Unique Travels office in Rovaniemi city center (a pretty grim office at that), and it was here where we signed a waiver and waited for an hour whilst others got their winter gear.
Eventually we boarded the bus again and got to the snowmobiles, where we got helmets and then had to wait for another large group to depart on their tour before we could go. When we finally got the snowmobile induction and were ready to go, it had been 2 hours since our pickup. All we had done was travel to the office and signed a waiver, and then travelled back again to the snowmobiles.
We could have easily met up with the group and signed the waiver at the snowmobiles (which we were staying close to), saving us 2 hours of time and stress. This showed a lack of coordination on the part of the provider. Why not ask people if they have their own winter gear, before taking them to the office (which is already overrun with people)? Why not let people with their own gear meet at the snowmobiles and simply have them sign the waiver there? This was especially frustrating since we were staying 10 mins from the snowmobiles, and the provider knew this. So getting there would be no issue for us.
I hope Nordic Unique Travels takes this feedback onboard and that they can adjust their process so that other travelers avoid this unnecessary hassle in the future.

Had a great ice fishing and snowmobile experience with our great guides Paula, Carlos and Aldo. They were super friendly, engaging and fun and really worked hard to give you a great experience. Would recommend it to everyone.

We had a very nice day Icefishing! Pau, our guide, made the best out of this experience.
We explored the forest wearing snowshoes, then we went fishing on a frozen lake surrounded by breathtaking views, after all this we enjoyed a very good lunch with Lappish bread and salmon made on the fire accompanied by hot blubbery juice.
We are really thankful for everything!

We were 2 small groups (about 14 persons in total) our guide (Alberto) was very kind and disponible.
The activity was very funny even if the fish did not bite the hook (we have done a little snowshoe ride before fishing)
After the effort, comfort we ate salmon cooked over a wood fire.

We can not see northern lights because of the weather but it’s not the reason of the note.
The organisation was a little poor. We arrived about 20minutes before the start of the activity and we were wainting inside the agency as we were asked but we were phoned by one of the guide to known where we were….
We were a big group (about 50 persons), a bus was necessary to drive us to the bbq location.
We were dispatched in group by language in the tepee.
Even if the weather was not propitious to northern lights the guides did not provide explanations about how the northern lights are created and we were most of the time inside the tepee than outside to try to « hunt » the northern lights. Finally we were « hunting the sausage ».

Thank you for your kind feedback. Since it's high season in Lapland during this period, there are many tourists traveling here, and normally the group sizes are bigger. Sorry for making you wait for the other customers, and we have been always trying our best to beter take care of all customers despite of possible bigger groups.
Basically our guides check aurora activities and weather conditions before the tour departures for better locations, but thank you for kindly understanding Northern Lights depend on nature, so it can't be guaranteed.

We loved every minute of the night trip, Victor & Daniel were excellent guides & both so knowledgeable but still fun. They really made sure it special for our 11 year as only child. We didn’t see northern lights as it snowing but it actually made it magical crossing frozen lake, the BBQ of sausage & corn is just perfect to warm you. Meeting farm goats was lovely bonus as they nosey to see us leaving, huskies so happy & healthy. Could not find a fault, excellent from booking to finish & Victor’s karaoke bus was great fun to finish the drive back 😂

Our guide Daniel was fantastic in his hospitality, helpfulness and knowledge. This was greatly appreciated. Daniel was the leading factor in making this experience closer to worth-while. Greeting the huskies as well as our sleigh guide was an enjoyable experience. Also, the shared sausages and marshmallows around the campfire were also enjoyable. However, for the price of €400 for my partner and I.. I expected much more than what was delivered. Firstly I feel fooled by the name “hunting for northern lights with husky”. This is because the experience is set on a pre made track with the “hunt” only lasting a duration of aprox 20 minutes. Secondly I wont be using the company “unique nordic travels” as they were highly difficult, pedantic and convoluted in my pick up and drop off (this unnecessary awkwardness came from senior management, the staff member over the phone however ‘Javier’ was trying his best to account for this which is appreciated. Also the staff at ‘unique nordic travels’ refused to give my partner and I balaclavas to use despite having an abundance… additionally being told we wont need them, bearing in mind this activity is on an open sleigh riding in -25C. Seems as though handing us balaclavas wasn't in the €400 budget… I dont leave reviews typically but ultimately I paid €400 for 20 minutes with the huskies despite advertisement saying 5-10km, high expectations for an okay experience that was most certainly not worth the large expense. Two others as well as my partner that I spoke to on the trip shared this view also.

We work with different husky farms and the programs are a bit different, so the distance indicated with the product page has been a range. The farm we conducted the tour during your traveling date was the one with 5.5km track. Since the distance is fixed, the time duration can depend on the speed of the huskies.
It will be appreciated if you can let us know more detailed concerns for the pick-up and drop-off in your description since it can help us improve the process. All members in our team would try our best to help to make the transportation more smoothly. Balaclavas are not included in the tour you booked and they have been prepared for the groups departed afterwards booking tours including those. We apologize for the possible inconvenience.

Hey there, we will arrive in Rovaniemi tomorrow and think about doing the Horse Riding tour you offer on GetYourGuide on Saturday. I am a horse rider but my husband is not. Does he need further knowledge of horseriding or can he do the tour as a beginner? Thanks for your help - we could not find an answer to this question in the description of the tour as nothing is stated about whether you need experience or not. Kind regards

Hi, how long will the husky ride be? It says "short ride" so we think if its better to book two separated tours. We would like to have a husky ride of about at least one hour, and snowmobile the same. We are two people. What should we book with your company?

We did the husky/reindeer/snowmobile tour. The husky and reindeer were very short. Maybe 10 minutes each. The snow mobile was probably an hour and a half. Sounds like you want to different safaris. One husky. One snow mobile. How this helps?
