Nothing quite like it

This is one of the most epic places I have visited on earth. Not only because I love everything Christmas, but because of the real feeling SantaPark provides of being in Santa's Cavern. My company hosted an event this establishment in October 2019 and our guests were blown away! We even had a special guest appearance from Santa himself and his elves who came to take photos with us all. Every nook in this place oozes the Christmas vibe and it was here where I crossed into the Arctic Circle, an experience I will never forget. This is one for the kiddies and the adult kiddies alike. If ever you are in Rovaniemi, give SantaPark a visit. You won't be sorry!

Dear SnowFairySugar, Thank you so much for taking your time and writing a review about your experience at SantaPark. We were very happy to hear that your event was a success and you and your guests enjoyed the magical surroundings and everlasting spirit of Christmas at Santa's Home Cavern - SantaPark! Our fairytale team at SantaPark offers wide selection of activities available and we are always happy to organize any event in any scale during off season times as well - is it a magical wedding in the surroundings of sculptures made of ice and hosted by Ice Princess, or is it a rock concert with big indoor fireworks, or a big important conference - SantaPark can make it all with a touch of magic! Hope to see you again for bigger celebrations at Santa's Home Cavern - SantaPark! With the best Christmassy wishes, Elf Deni

Avoid at all costs

I was embarrassed to have taken my children here.

People are reviewing Santa Claus Village under the heading of SANTALAND, they are totally different places.

PLEASE do not get Santaland mixed up with Santa Clause village. SCV is wonderful and magical, Santaland is a cavern under the ground that is the biggest waste of time. My children had a horrible time here and they are fairly easily entertained.

It is so poorly run, long lines, disinterested staff. The show is abominable, half of the rooms never opened when they were meant to. I cannot believe that this place is still operating. It is amaterish and cheap.

The food is revolting, as in inedible, and we are not fussy at all.

Please stay away from Santaland, it's an absolute embarrassment.

Dear bigjules1, Thank you very much for dedicating some time to share your precious feedback with us. It's unfortunate to hear that your visit with us was not fulfilling the expectations. During the peak of the season Santa is having many guests coming to visit him from all around the world and unfortunately due to that, some waiting time might occur. However our cave elves are always there for you and your family to share the magic of Christmas at Santa's Own Cavern and we are sorry to hear you found our fairy tale team disinterested. During the day there are schedules for SantaPark show and Elf School lessons, so elves are able to perform to all the friends of Santa Claus. Family meeting with Santa Claus in his office, visit to the Gingerbread Bakery, visit to the Elves’ Post Office, Magic Train Ride, Handicrafts in Elf Workshop, Undercrossing of the Arctic Circle, Visit to Ice Gallery, Ice Bar and meeting with the Ice Princess, Two Gaming Arenas, visit of Toy Factory Shopping Area are available for everyone all day around! We elves do hope that you would be able to visit us in future again, and enjoy all the activities Lapland has to offer. Have a lovely summer! Best Regards, Elf Deni

Long queue

The whole setting, building, clock, days to go for Christmas the gloomy atmosphere, the dwarfs around create a make-belief world. It also makes you think that Santa lives here and will visit you every Christmas. It is a false promise for the children to give. I do not recommend.

Fun but overpriced
Dec 2019 • Family
Santa Park was fun for our 7 year old but nowhere near as special as it could have been. Seeing Santa was a bit of a let down as he barely spoke. If you are going to see Santa I’d recommend here rather than Santa Village. Food was appalling and extremely expensive.

The cave was fun but very much designed for families with young children. The ice cave and vodka shots were great.

Super to vistit Santa
Dec 2019
It was my first visit to Santa, to Lapland and it was fantastic. We went with night train from Helsinki. And yes, that train takes cars also so you can have full experience in Finland and in Lapland. And that train has a restaurant too! So Santa Park is inside the mountain and there was full trip and also chance to make picture with Santa. I recommend it!

Loved SantaPark!
Jan 2020 • Solo
SantaPark is a place for all familly! Anyone who loves Christmas will have a fun time! Purchased my ticket thru TripAdvisor.com and the exchange in the ticket booth was easy! There are two buses and a route bus (8) that will take you from Rovaneimi city center lto and from SantaPark and neighbouring Santas Village. Really enjoyable place!!

We loved it!
Dec 2019 • Family
We visited here 21st & 22nd Dec 2019 as the admission ticket gives you entry for two consecutive days, so we felt we didn’t have to rush around to do everything all at once. Although you could do all the activities in one day.
We walked it up from the Santa Claus village along a lovely wide snowy pathway. The children enjoyed playing in the snow along the way, it probably takes about 30mins to walk up to the Santa Park from the Santa Claus village, but you can also take the Santa express bus too.
We were pleasantly surprised to find there were very few queues and the queue to meet Santa was very fast moving and didn’t take long at all! We were expecting long queues and it being very busy because of when we visited, but this wasn’t the case. You ARE allowed to take as many photos as you like at the Santa park when meeting the man himself! And take videos too if you wish to. (We were happy about this as we were not allowed to use our own camera to take photos at the Santa village post office) Although they do also take a professional photo too which you have the option to buy.
We enjoyed making gingerbread biscuits, taking the train ride (several times because there were NO queues!) watching the Elf show, going to Elf school, making elf faces to nail on the wall, visiting the ice bar and ice sculpture gallery, the kids played some ball games like basket ball and obviously we went to see the REAL Santa. It’s a magical little place and all of our family enjoyed it here. We stayed for lunch which is an all you can eat buffet type place and watched the elf show whilst drinking our hot chocolate. The children posted their letters in the post box & We went to the gift shop where the toys and things are actually better priced than some of the gift/souvenir shops down in the Santa Claus village!

Disappointed Visit - over commercialised - not magical at all
Nov 2019
Having not been to Lapland previously we did not know what Santa Park was or what to expect, however the TUI reps and the Rep for Lapland Safari hammered home the message that this was the home of the “real” father Christmas and that this was the “real deal”. They also eluded to the opportunity to decorate gingerbread men with Mrs. Claus and attend Elf school. Whilst on the 40-minute coach journey to Santa Park our Lapland Safari rep informed us to head straight to father Christmas as the queues can be notoriously long and as we only had 2.5 hours at the park we needed to allow enough time to ensure that we visited him. It was pointed out to us that this was only time during our stay that we would get to see Father Christmas. At no point was any information about Santa park provided to us, including the fact that we should have been given passes to present upon arrival and wear around the park. At this point alarm bells started to ring as we incorrectly thought that this was going to be a magical personal experience with the big man and that we would have an allocated time slot in which to visit him, this was not the case. We headed straight to meet Father Christmas. I can only describe Santa park as an indoor Christmas shopping Centre, having walked down the long sloping walk way down into the “park” (shopping Centre) everything is laid out in a circular fashion. We walked round to where Father Christmas was and was confronted by a fake wooden shed with a queue outside. We duly queued up and after about 25 minutes it was our turn to go in. The elf who showed us in did not ask the children’s names, did not ask what they wanted for Christmas or any other pertinent questions. We were shown into the see Santa and directed to sit next to him, they then took 3 photos, gave us a sticker and after approximately 2 minutes showed us the exit door. Father Christmas did not ask them any questions, it was certainly in no way magical and to be honest an absolutely atrocious experience of what should have been the pinnacle of meetings with Santa. As we left my 9-year-old daughter said “do we not get a present from father Christmas Dad?” I had no answer for her, as we walked out, we were confronted with the conveniently placed photo stand where we paid £25 for a photo of us with Santa. The whole experience lasted no more than 2 minutes. Both my wife and I were appalled that we had come all the way to Lapland to be confronted with an over commercialized, tin pot Santa in a glorified shopping Centre!!.
We tried to not let this ruin the rest of the very short amount of time we had left at the park so we rushed around everything else, we attended the elf school which was a nice experience albeit it was again crowded and busy. Not a bespoke visit, nor did it feel personable in anyway shape or form.
We then went and found the decorating Gingerbread men experience, paying £3 each for 2 gingerbread men for the children to spread some icing on and then sprinkle hundreds and thousands on. No sign of Mrs. Claus to assist the children and this was in essence a glorified do it yourself decorating experience. This was very busy with limited seating, in a tight space and certainly wasn’t what it was portrayed to be as an experience with Mrs. Claus decorating Gingerbread men.
By this time my wife was getting very cross and upset at the whole experience, the outside area that was originally opened was now closed – it later transpired that our visit did not include the outside as we had already had our taster sessions that morning back at the hotel. This hadn’t been fully explained on the coach either.
We found a seat to watch the elf show which was due to start at 1600hrs, however as we had 10-15 minutes to spare, I took the children to a small train ride located within the centre. Whilst queuing we were approached by Iggy Igloo the tour guide from Lapland safari. He engaged in conversation with us and asked if we had seen Father Christmas. I informed him that we had, he told me that he would speak to us when we had finished the train ride. We went on the ride and as we came off, Iggy was waiting with two wrapped presents in his hands. He informed me that “Santa had forgotten to give the children their presents” I gave him a funny look however in order not to make a fuss in front of the kids I did not question him on this. I was also given 2 x TUI passes and told that we could use these to get the Gingerbread men for the decorating and this was free. I informed him that I had already paid for this “experience”. I later found Iggy Igloo and he confirmed that he should have given us the passes as we got off the coach upon arrival and that for the past 2 hours, he had been trying to find everyone to give them the passes. I pointed out that we had gone straight to see Father Christmas as he had suggested so it would not have been too difficult to find us. He was very apologetic however as I pointed out this was whole point in coming to Lapland to visit the “real father Christmas” and the experience had been ruined for our children. My wife was extremely upset by this debacle and to be honest put a downer on the remainder of the trip. This was in no way the magical experience that we had been promised.
The whole 2.5 hours spent in Santa park was rushed, over commercialized and to be honest a complete rip off. The TUI brochure states that we would have “a day” in Santa’s park – I don’t think 2.5 hours would equate to a day in anyone’s book. Therefore, this is a complete fabrication on TUI’s part and they are not fulfilling the promises they have made in thier brochure.
We returned to the hotel and I spoke to the TUI reps there. They stated that they would do “something” to make the kids feel the magic of Lapland. They asked if the children had now received their gift from Father Christmas, which I confirmed they had, however seemed to miss the point that the whole experience was lacking the personal touch and not just the missing gift.

We did not feel that this was the pinnacle of father Christmas experiences, its fine to visit if you have another father booked however if you are relying on this as the sole father Christmas experience i would be very disapointed.

We feel extremely sorry that the visit in SantaPark left you feeling disapointed, after many things not working out as they should have. Wishing you lovely spring time and beautiful weekend. :) Kindest Regards, Elf Josefiina
