Great resort for ski beginners as very quiet with wide slopes. Instructors at ski school are very patient. Ages ranged from very young to nearly retired. We did husky sledging which was great fun and a reindeer sledge ride. Locals at the resort are very friendly. We sort of saw the northern lights one evening but not in all its... More

I hadn't snowboarded for 18 years and so wanted somewhere I could ease back into it. The baby slopes are great, however all other slopes are blue, black or red. So the main slopes can be a bit steep for a beginner! The lessons were fantastic and staff very helpful, we will be returning next year - If you do... More

We went from 7-14-February. There were only 52km out of the 160km cross-country ski tracks that were groomed. You can see the current state by doing a search on the words Latutilanne and Sallassa (note that the blue lines are of the ungroomed tracks, the other colours give the time since they were last groomed).

Been here almost a week now. Every day in hill for several hours snowboarding and some cross-coutry skiing in the evenings. The blue slopes (5.1-5.3) are perfect for the beginners to learn snowboard or downhill skiin. Lots of snow which is soft to fall on, my butt likes. Been really lucky with the weather so far. Not too cold and... More

Just got back from week holiday in Salla in Lapland. The scenery is magical, snow covered forests, frozen lakes, fire huts to warm up in and if lucky the northern lights. The ski runs are pristine but limited, no queues but no chairs, only tee bars and a button on the beginner slope. Beginners need to be competent to go... More

Great place with real Lapland feeling. Not a 'circus' but real place :) Log restaurant sympathetic. Really nice slopes with diffuculty if you wish. Suitable cross country with not too high slopes. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Wilderness is close here

Great for beginners but the gentlest slopes are blue , there are no greens . The ski Runs are short as Finland is flat , this resort is only 213 metres high but there are 5 blue runs . Due to being in the arctic circle , you can guarantee the snow . Great for families who want to take... More

Can't compare skiing in Lapland with the French Alps or Dolimiti ....but we had a great experience. Very good and friendly ski-instructors, Reindeers on the slopes and good quality snow .... Cool experience to ski at night on illuminated slopes. And you can see Russia ....

We enjoyed our week here as conditions were quite fresh. There aren't many slopes in the resort but that's part of the attraction as on some days there are very few people on the slopes and almost no queuing for lifts. We were disappointed that one of the lifts wasn't open cancelling out three runs. This made the runs a... More
