Ruka is a small ski resort with a 'fjell' rather than a mountain. It is a very pretty place with masses to do. Not the most challenging for experienced skiers but plenty of small slopes which aren't busy and can be accessed from accomodation's door (ski locker outside). Snowmobile into the forest and a fine Northern Lights display whilst on... More

What a place ! An absolute magical winter wonderland ! We stayed for 5 nights in Ruka Suites. Apartments were great and right in the heart of all the activities. We saw the Northern lights twice . Huskey sleigh ride is amazing as was the snow Mibile Safari. We booked a 1 hour 40 mins ski school for me and... More

If you don’t want to ski, there is not much else you can do unless you want to spend hundreds of £s on the tourist trips. We went for a week and got roughly 3 hours 'sunlight' a day. This was fine for us as the slopes are floodlit and we skied every day for at least 5 hours. Apart... More

Dear Queen-star, Sad to hear that you weren’t 100% happy for your Holiday. Maybe you want to come again on the summer time when, we have lots of daylight (endless nights and so) and you can be outside with good weather in the nature. Best regards, Silja/Ski-Inn reception More

Second trip to Ruka with my Finnish girlfriend and her family. Lovely place with great facilities, cabins well stocked with showers, sauna, 2 bedrooms. Ruka village itself has everything you could need including shops, bars and convenience stores. Ski slopes range from complete beginner and children (me) to hardcore slopes for the experts (the girlfriend). I love Ruka and although... More

Our 8 year old daughter loved every part of it Amazing restaurants, large supermarket, opposite a friendly booking company for all your day trips and excursions. Great place to visit for beginners skiers, who want the Lapland experience. Slopes are gentle and not too busy, good ski school, my wife and 2 girls (12 & 10) learnt to ski from as beginners. Slopes not too busy and lifts easy to get into with no long queues. Husky visit and ride was great, did a 5km sledge... More

Popped into Ruka for a day of downhill skiing. Worth it. There is a bar, restaurants and food and beer shops here. Get your souvenirs from here.
