As someone who has travelled to many places around the world, i can easily say this is the most hands on and exhilarating experience i have ever had. This isn't simply sitting in a sled and getting driven around, it's completely hands on. Tapio, the wonderful and friendly Head Musher, showed us how to operate the sleds and introduced us to some of his many dogs, handing them to us directly by the lead, to connect them ourselves to the sled before heading out on the adventure of a lifetime through some of the Earth's most magical scenery.

Not only is the ride an incredible experience, but witnessing Tapio's connection with his dogs is an experience in itself; they truly are his family, his blood flows through their veins. They are all so well looked after and loved, and a joy to be around. (Nimba is my favourite).

Towards the end of the ride, we all sat down and enjoyed some traditional finnish food by a campfire, and talked about our own adventures and learned much about Finland and its culture from Tapio (who speaks better English than most English people!)

All in all, it was an unforgettable experience, that i would recommend to absolutely anyone.

Together with my 15-year-old son I went on a husky sled ride, organized by Tapio. It was truly breathtakingly beautiful, well worth the money. Tapio sees his huskies as family... you can tell because they have a good bond and the huskies are beautiful and very sweet. We had three sleds and first my son and I went in the sled and Tapio steered... then he steered another sled and my son steered... which he thought was fantastic. On the way back we stopped for a delicious barbecue at a home-made fire. Tapio had sausages and all kinds of tasty home-made Finnish delicacies and sandwiches, coffee and tea. Tapio talks passionately about the dogs, his life and during the campfire we also had very interesting conversations (also with the two other couples who joined us) about Finland. He picked us up in his car at the bus stop in Nuuksio and dropped us off there again after the tour. We helped put the dogs on a leash for the sled, gave them food and water after the trip... you really get a glimpse into how that works. The freedom, the view, the snow, the trees, . the enthusiasm of the huskies.. it was truly an experience we will never forget, highly recommended! Tapio is really friendly and a real husky friend. We had an amazing time with Tapio and his beautiful family of huskies. Tapio started off by introducing each dog to us one by one, telling us a bit about each of them and helping us to get them set up on the sled. We then headed out through the forest on the sleds for the bulk of the time which was great fun, eventually settling down for a bit under some shelter to try some Finnish delicacies by the fire and chat with Tapio. We then finished off by giving the huskies some well earned water and paté, bad helping them back into their little cubbyholes.
The dogs were lovely and friendly, and it was really nice to see how well loved they are. Tapio was also super friendly and just made the experience really comfortable and fun.
It's a day we'll never forget - and driving the sled is a particular highlight if you get the chance to. I would absolutely recommend the experience if you're able to do it - beautiful huskies, a great guide, and amazing scenery!

This was such a special experience. Dog sledding is something that we have wanted to do for years and to get to do it in a beautiful landscape with a small group made it feel very intimate and personal. Tapio is a fantastic guide and you can really see how much he loves his dogs and the art of dog sledding. He is very knowledgeable and tells you a bit about each dog so you feel you get to know the animals personally too. Being able to be so close and to spend so much time with the dogs was wonderful.
Whilst on our trip, we got the opportunity to walk across a frozen lake which was surreal. It was so quiet and peaceful!
The campfire meal is a delightful little extra and it was great to be able to try some traditional Finnish sausages while we were there.
I cannot recommend this experience enough. It was the highlight of our trip to Finland! Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

The best trip I have ever been on whilst away, we have had the most magical day with Taipo and his huskeys! We couldnt have wished for it to go any better, we had time to meet and learn about the individual huskys that were so happy and cared for! And then we had an amazing fun husky ride through the forest, the sun was shining and it felt magical. We then stopped for coffee round a campfire and delicious snacks and sausages.
Would recommend anyone to do this, so worth every penny !

We travelled from Helsinki by train and bus to the national park. Transport excellent so we arrived easily into the stunning national park.
Tapio collected us from the bus stop and drove us to the start.
To sum up our experience- we had the most amazing time . Tapio and his beautiful husky’s were so friendly . We spent 3 hours in the the woods , helping set up the dogs , then mastering the art of mushing , followed by grilling sausages on an open fire. This trip made our holiday to Helsinki special, and we will never forget this experience. Thank you Tapio and your family of beautiful husky’s .

We were a group of six people, plus a four-month-old baby.

After we got off the bus, Tapio and his helper, Aurora, immediately picked us up. They were both very friendly and welcoming.

We received a quick welcome greeting and then were taken to the sledding location. They provided us with warm clothes to wear to help us enjoy the trip! Tapio also made sure that the baby was well wrapped and comfortable.

We went on a two-hour trip with a fire at the halfway point, and it was absolutely incredible! During the drive, Tapio made sure everyone was happy, enjoying their time, and getting good pictures, all while ensuring the baby was warm and safe.

When we set up the fire, Tapio and Aurora made sure we tried all the food and drinks they had brought. It was a really comfortable and pleasant experience!

We finished off by giving snacks to the dogs and taking a few more good pictures! Afterwards, they dropped us off at the bus stop again and sent us off feeling really good about the whole experience!

I will definitely recommend this to any friends and family who visit Helsinki!

Thank you very much, Tapio and Aurora!

You get to learn how to hook up the dogs and you'll drive through trails in the national park. There were two sleds and ended up being 5 persons that showed up.
I dont think this was worth the cost. Not everyone got to drive the sled and it was a very short distance maybe 3km one way and a pretty slow ride. But maybe we just had a mediocre experience.
