A church built into a hill, surrounded by rock. Different, but not overly impressive in any way. There's a modest entry fee. A place to pop into once on your walking tour.

It is an impressive bit of architecture, but not worth a special visit. We stopped by during our Panorama Helsinki Tour of 2.5 hours and it was nice to get off the bus and walk around the corner to the church for a look and to stretch our legs. The copper roof is also impressive and very nice to look... More

This is an interesting building which was one of the highlights of a tour of the city. Built into the hillside, its bare rock and simple design making a striking if unusual church.

Unassuming exterior. The interior was surprisingly different than other european churches. Ceiling of copper. Walls of rough rock. Full of light

Worth the wait to get in (sessions arranged at set times). The way the church is constructed is amazing; be sure to get out the ceiling detail.

This church is really a strange construction. It is literally sculptured into a rock, so it got its name and have for roof a fantastic dome!

The place is really a design and engineering marvel. The problem is that they allow hundrends and hundreds of people to be there at the same time.
