This is a lovely place to visit especially during summer days. My personal tip is to buy unsalted nuts (maapähkinä) and share them with squirrels, they're very tame and will come eat from your hand :) The birds prefer seeds but they too will come eat from your hand if you let them! Seurasaari can also be very beautiful during... More

Staying not far away from there we decided to visit it also. And haven't regret at all. Pay for entrance and get in. Very nice place to see. Lots of historical wooden buildings from the Finland countryside history. Most of those houses are open so you can enter and see then internally. In some of them the museum people are... More

We got the bus 24 over to Seurasaari from Esplanade square. We spent around 2 hours here wandering around with snow falling around us. It was an amazing time! Stunning scenery and interesting information about the buildings and history of the area. There was a lovely cafe that we stopped off at to warm up and had some lovely Glöggi... More

One of the best sightseeing in Helsinki. Seurasaari has enough to see for all day. Maybe few more cafe's could be adding to the great experience. Squirrels are so tame they eat from hands. History with Nature - Amazing Daytrip. Higly recommended if you have few days to spend in Helsinki.

This worth a walk there and reading the information about every house and boat there. The landscape is very nice and you can easily see some squirrels, very nice!!

I've visited Seurasaari several times during the years. It's a nice combination of history and nature very near the center of Helsinki. It's actually an open-air museum, you can visit the wooden buildings or just enjoy the atmosphere. My favorites are the near to tame red squirrels and birds that inhabit the island. Nice place for a picnic. - Small... More

We walked from the citycenter there in order to get the most out of a lovely sunny november day. The place is amazing! Since it was november the museum itself is closed, but we could walk around and see the buildings, to tools and the lovely squirrels who were naughty enough to come to us. Amazing place also with a... More

Original skansen area and museum, surrounded by forrest, on an island. Access by foot, not far from Helsinki center. Great, beautiful place to walk, several cafés and small restaurants. For a realxed visit reserve three - four hours.

I have to admit, I didn't actually go in to any of the buildings at the museum. I visited the island twice. The first time was for the Midsummer Festival, which was incredible, bizarre, peaceful, and like nothing I have ever been involved in before. I couldn't recommend visiting for the festival enough. It's definitely a bucket list ind of... More
