I found this little gem when I walked back to hotel. It was free of charge. It is small, but very lovely. It is a family friendly park. It is really for everyone.

I loved it. Only a small amount was under construction while I was there, and it was all outside. The glasshouses are beautiful and the variety of plants inside them is amazing.

Gardens are free and quite extensive. Lots of nice features and plants (not just native). There is a cafe and greenhouses (small charge) but we didn't visit these. Worth a visit.

Portti oli siirretty hankalaan paikkaan, mutta löytyi onneksi. Puutarha on uudistettu ulkoa, se on hieno. Tänne kannattaa kesällä piipahtaa katselemaan ja kahvillekin. The garden is worth to visit, Great to see and you can have s cup of coffee also.

The Sensory Garden is a section where you can look, smell, touch, and on Wednesdays also taste plants. There are also some nice hiding places in the shade if you just want to relax. And of course plenty to see if you're into biology.

Previously, when visiting Helsinki, I had no idea about this place. Everything was neatly laid out. Interesting to see university staff had corrected some of the plant names by hand. Strange feeling to be swarmed by Peacock, Red Admiral and Small Tortoiseshell butterflies, at a...More

The big hothouses in the center of Helsinki are quite hidden from outside in Kaisaniemi park. They form a string of rooms for different kind of vegetation - Island, Palm, Desert, Savanna, Mediterranean in varying temperatures. The most eyecatching is the small Waterlily room with...More

Everyone I met in Helsinki spoke perfect English, and most customer service folks spoke at least 3 languages. Most signage was available in several languages always including English.
