sauna here can be an amazing experience especially for a foreigner .Kaurila is surly as traditional as a wood-stove sauna summer house could be. The dim candle-lit sauna gives a smooth moist heat, and change room is rustic , so if you are in Helsinki do not miss it .

This sauna can definitely be a unique and once in the lifetime experience for a foreigner, but probably not something for a regular sauna-goer. Kaurila is almost as traditional as a wood-stove sauna cottage can get. The dim candle-lit sauna provides gentle and moist heat, and the dressing room is rustic and romantic. But sauna is not meant only for relaxation and soul cleansing. It is also - and foremost - meant for washing your body before and after sitting in the steam. In Kaurila bathers have to take turns and use the same bucket. Works best for private parties. The public sauna for some 10-15 persons was a bit of a disappointment since the sauna and the dressing room felt uncomfortably crowded. Remember to take your own food and drinks with you, since there is only water available.

Beautiful historic Sauna in the middle of the Helsinki. You can rent it for your private use. Bring your own drinks.

Did 3 saunas in 4 days. It was the best since the most authentic. Come in group so that you can share the price. We did have a great moment. I recommend. Sarah is nice with her guest.

Kaurilan sauna is a very different to the commercial city based saunas. It’s located in a really beautiful quiet area away from the city ( an easy 20 minute tram ride, a 600 mtr walk up to the Sauna, a sign post will show its located up the hill on the left.)

You are greeted with freshly baked warm beer bread, the cabin is rustic, organic and has lots of character. It’s very clean and has everything you could ask for in a Sauna ( even a acoustic guitar).

The setting is intimate and big enough to enjoy with a few friends or perfect for a couple on their honeymoon.

I highly recommend this place to get a feeling of a Finish Saundra experience.

This was truly a relaxing experience in middle of nature. What makes this place unique is the fact that it's operated by family. Saara (the host) was kind and enjoyed sauna together with the guests. She even provided freshly baked bread to everyone. It was like visiting somebody's home

We had an amazing afternoon at the Kaurilan Sauna In Helsinki. We rented the sauna for 2 hours and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our recent Baltic cruise. This is a very traditional Finnish experience. Sarra, the owner, was amazing. She welcomed us, explained how to use the sauna and served us the most delicious warm bread imaginable. The sauna is located in in small cottage in Helsinki. The cab ride from downtown was about 10 minutes. The private area outside the sauna was comfortable and heated with a wood fire. We enjoyed the bread and, once in the sauna, washed with clean water and soap and scrubbed ourselves with a home-made brush. Then, we sat and enjoyed the heat from the wood burning stove. Saara supplied us with towels and we payed a little extra for bathrobes. The 2 hours could not have been better!

An amazing experience! I went with a group to the Kaurilan Sauna, and we had the best afternoon! We were able to grill out and have an open air dining experience before taking turns in and out of the Sauna itself. I loved the gardens and swings on the property, as well. It was wonderful to sit in the resting room or on the porch before heading back in for another steam. The products sold there are great, as well, and homemade! I simply cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for a beautiful experience!
