If you like old towns and wooden buildings, this is a place to visit. Do not hurry, do not drive a car. Walk and take it slow. Look into houses, backyards and details. Summer and winter, does not matter. Take a stroll and a cup of coffee.

This is a World Heritage Site, a wooden town comprising scores of wonderfuland colourful buildings. It is not just a tourist attraction but provides real homes to local people. Well worth a visit.

It´s not touristy at all, but i do like the place. Old wooden buildings, where people are still living. Even at night its recommended.

We had a tour guide take us through the Old Town and she had a nice style to tell her stories. I feel we got more out of the tour this way.

Old wooden town that has survived from fires. Nice strolling around during a sunny day. Map needed, because the houses and streets look similar.

The Neristan are is unique in its Scandinavian style, having been built for families of sea-farers in the 18th-19th century. It's a nice place to take a stroll in summer as well as winter.
