Turku castle is located on a beautiful edge of the city which is great if you want to spent the day exploring the area around it no foot.

It was kind of far, but worth it. I was not planning to go there, but as I got bored being in Helsinki for a long time, I just decided to go somewhere out of the city, then went to Turku without knowing this castle. It was not so convenient to go there, taking bus and walking quite long time.... More

Really well designed, we spent 3 hours in there. Lot's of different types of activities for adults and children: classic museum collections, short videos, role playing, information about the castle and about Finland overall. Some rooms are designed and decorated to remind of different eras. Some stairs are really high so remember to be careful. The most beautiful castle in... More

Collection of old clothes, dishes and tools is amazing. Some of them are more than hundreds of years old

Turku is the capital of Finland during the time when Finland is ruled by kings and queens. The castle is a reminder of Finland's diverse history. Although the castle's exterior is not what most people expect (I mean, the "fairy tale" castle), it is still full of artifacts and interesting displays which reflect the life of its inhabitants. Visitors can... More

Castle is enormous so put aside half a day! Most of the very detailed descriptions in rooms were also in English which was a bonus as we are tourists. Great exhibits throughout and so much information you won't know what to do with yourself. Beautiful castle!

Really old place in good condition. Had a friends wedding in this last summer and it was something to remember. Try it out!

Fantastic, authentic medieval castle to explore. Extremely large castle so allow plenty of time. Something for everyone including children with a dress up room. Kids can dress up from knights in o royalty, lots of fun. Museum sometimes has visiting exhibitions which adds to the trip. Definitely worthwhile. Guided tours are also available in multiple languages.

This castle is just so big - if I have anything negative to say about it, it is that you could probably stay all day here and still not see everything! But that means there's something for everyone - the kids can appreciate the castle as a whole and some of the smaller exhibits along the way will cater to... More
