Although the name is Sibelius Museum, it is a music museum. There is also much more to see. However, Sibelius plays a big part. The museum building itself with its stunning Chambre Music Hall is also worth to see.

The museum features not only the life and works of Sibelius, but also has a nice collection of different musical instruments from all over the world. I also enjoyed reading the trivia about Sibelius the composer. Very friendly staff. A nice hour spent here.

As a classical music lover, I was very at home here! There is a small display of musical instruments, including a harpsichord you can try playing, and a small exhibition about Sibelius' bohemian lifestyle interwoven with excerpts of music he composed at the time. In...More

I hate the building, it's ugly and unfriendly - but, a bit like the Tardis, don't be put off by the Interior! Currently there's an exhibition on 100 years of .Finnish composers - and it's fascinating. Do take a look if you are in town...More

Licated just behind the cathedral, it us a concrete building most likely from the 70s. It is a wuirt place, dedicated to the eminent composer and hosting temporary exhibits like just now "conducting in Finland"
