Although the name is Sibelius Museum, it is a music museum. There is also much more to see. However, Sibelius plays a big part.
The museum building itself with its stunning Chambre Music Hall is also worth to see.
The museum features not only the life and works of Sibelius, but also has a nice collection of different musical instruments from all over the world. I also enjoyed reading the trivia about Sibelius the composer. Very friendly staff. A nice hour spent here.

Spent about 1 hour there before we left Turku. Really worth the time to visit. There are not only exhibition about Sibelius, but also many rare instruments and photos of the past. I like and enjoyed the museum.

Currently there's an exhibition on 100 years of .Finnish composers - and it's fascinating. Do take a look if you are in town...More
I travelled on a VOYAGES JULES VERNE tour, where I was left in Turku for an extra two days. Upon arrival at this museum, the ticket clerk made me feel very welcome. As a Sibelius enthusiast, I asked for the Karelia suite and sat alone...More
