You don't really need more than half an hour to an hour to visit here but it is worth it. It is actually one house complex that the church pastor used to live in, but is a model of how many lived at that time....More

The scenery found the house is beautiful and the ladies that work at the house/museum were very nice. I loved seeing how people a hundred years or more managed in this cold c!limate. It was fascinating how resourceful these people were. Well worth a visit....More

We really enjoyed touring the sod houses. Loved how they all linked together. Incredibly well maintained with beautiful church and views.

A bit dear but everything in Iceland is expensive. Lots of items within the turf homes to see as well. Also a small church on site. Cute little cafe with good cake and friendly staff. Also a small gift shop. Clean toilets.

We stopped at Laufas on a tour from our cruise ship. Gives you an idea of how people lived in the past, lots of interesting artifacts, beautiful scenery, wonderful Church and grave years with a reasonable gift shop. Worth the time to visit.

A beautiful turf farm and church offering insight into life in Iceland in the old days. Very picturesque setting with a view over the fjord.

My friend and I came to see the turf houses today and were given a wonderful tour by two young men who grew up in the area. They knew so much history about the area and were incredibly intelligent and kind. I would recommend this...More

It was interesting to see how multiple structures were joined together to build a large dwelling. The floors tend to be uneven and the ceilings low, so be careful when looking at the many small rooms.

This building is a good example of a wealthy vicarage in earlier times. The artifacts now kept in the house were collected in the early sixties. It is constructed mostly of timber but the roofs are of turf. Over 30 persons used to live in...More

The Farmhouse is a car ride away from the ships docking area . You would have to book a private trip or use a local taxi company .
