Hi there! I know that in Mid-June there has always been a festival in the Viking Village in Hafnafjördur which includes daily viking sword fightings and artists, storytellers, musicians, blacksmiths...but I am afraid ist over on June 19th. And...my suggestion....don't spend your whole stay in Reykjavik. It is crowded, expensive and traffic increased tremendously over the last years, most people will not believe until they stuck in a crazy traffic jam which every day lasts for hours....You can easily take a any car - and you don't need navigation system either. From the airport you go on the (41) than change to the (1) drive around Reykjavik direction Akranes, through the tunnel, where you can pay with credit card at it's end and you can easily make it until the area of Borgarnes in 1 1/2 hours. In June it will never be dark. Next day take the (54) all around the Snaefellsjökul (the mountain where is always snow, nearby millions of birds and waterfalls),visit Olafsvik and Stykissholmur, drive until (60) it's one of the most amazing trips! From ( 60) go back to the (1) until (53) drive to (520) through the mountains and along the Hvalfjördur, which is awesome, make a turn to the (47) to go around the fjord and look for (48) which leads you through waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes to the area of the National Park= pinvelleir , where you can go around pingvallavatan(the big lake), to the Geysir and the gorgeous Gullfoss, from there you can go to Reykjavik or to the south coast. Sorry for all my suggestions you did not ask for...I hope you will enjoy your trip!!
