Stayed for one night to have a different experience on the way back to Keflavik airport. There is a very cheap local bus from Reykjavik to the Hafnarfjordur and I got a good value deal for one night's b& b on a booking website. I stayed in a very nice room overlooking the harbour. The main reason for my average... More

Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant average. The experience was basically the staff dressed up and a singer. The rooms and breakfast pretty basic. But good value for the money. We were unfortunate with the weather gales and Rain for the 2 nights we were there so hard to really rate the place. Wifi was intermittent. Quite like the... More

Fjörugarðurinn, the Viking Restaurant, is open for dinner guests from 18.00 every day. Fjörugarðurinn easily sits 350 guests. The emphasis is on the Viking Era and as you enter you step into the world of the past. The décor is in the Viking style and offers a true Viking feast with traditional meals served in old-fashioned Viking-style trays. During these... More

We had dinner reservations so we came early to tour the small village. It was pretty amazing. It's decorated in historic Icelandic Viking era. We walked around and went to the cave bar before our dinner in the restaurant

The hotel room I'm in (6) is like the room you'd find on a cruise ship. Not complaining, just be prepared some of them may be fairly smaller than what you're used to. The hotel has two buildings. The restaurant is totally decked out in Viking. No corner was cut. I initially thought the bed to be hard, BUT I... More

There were several interesting buildings and carved, wooden statues on site, as well as some goats, but it was really nothing special. I would only visit if already in the area. I will say that the scenery on the drive there was fabulous though.

We have just returned from a 3 night secret escapes break here and I don't know what the expectations are from negative reviews but from when we arrived the staff was polite and very helpful. One lady on reception even went to the trouble of calling around excursion companies as we were struggling to find availability & left it to... More

A cosy and a warm place to stay with great staff with warm attitude. The best place to be to have a look into the old icelandic culture. In the restaurant you can eat almost anything from burgers to a real icelandic old food (and it's very special. I really recommend everyone to try it)

Great place to stay. We visited for my wife's 50th birthday and would thoroughly recommend staying here.
