Viking Village Iceland Experience

The lamb shank and catch of the day were both delicious. A performer walks around playing guitar and sings.

We had a true Icelandic experience at the restaurant. Tried Minsk Whale and Sheep's head. Interesting. Service was a little slow - especially when we stopped in another night for drinks - not a lot of options in the area. Fun atmosphere.

the food in the restaurant is amazing and especially the basil pesto with fresh bread we had as an appetiser incredibly tasty. I tasted the catch of the day, whale starter and pasta with lobster tails. expensive but Iceland is.

We called in here to get a coffee on a windy October afternoon, we were told by the waitress to get it ourselves at a machine and then pay at the reception desk on the way out !! it was deserted mid afternoon and cold. coffee was overpriced as we had to serve ourselves Wanted to go back for some... Stayed for one night to have a different experience on the way back to Keflavik airport. There is a very cheap local bus from Reykjavik to the Hafnarfjordur and I got a good value deal for one night's b& b on a booking website. I stayed in a very nice room overlooking the harbour. The main reason for my average... More

Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant average. The experience was basically the staff dressed up and a singer. The rooms and breakfast pretty basic. But good value for the money. We were unfortunate with the weather gales and Rain for the 2 nights we were there so hard to really rate the place. Wifi was intermittent. Quite like the... More

Fjörugarðurinn, the Viking Restaurant, is open for dinner guests from 18.00 every day. Fjörugarðurinn easily sits 350 guests. The emphasis is on the Viking Era and as you enter you step into the world of the past. The décor is in the Viking style and offers a true Viking feast with traditional meals served in old-fashioned Viking-style trays. During these... More

We had dinner reservations so we came early to tour the small village. It was pretty amazing. It's decorated in historic Icelandic Viking era. We walked around and went to the cave bar before our dinner in the restaurant

The hotel room I'm in (6) is like the room you'd find on a cruise ship. Not complaining, just be prepared some of them may be fairly smaller than what you're used to. The hotel has two buildings. The restaurant is totally decked out in Viking. No corner was cut. I initially thought the bed to be hard, BUT I... More
