The restaurant serves tasty cakes and coffee in the afternoon. The museum is very well done, with some good information, interestingly presented, to make the most of the space.

The exhibit reproduces several of the homes in which the writer has lived, and it really gives you a feel of the different living conditions with the earliest one being most informative for us. The cafeteria features simple food, which is certainly tasty. The staff,...More

Unlike some of North American roadside attractions which are more like rinky-dink tourist traps, the The Þórbergur center deserves the Museum title. Immersive displays featuring Þórbergur Þórðarson's writing is a wonderful snapshot of Icelandic life and the his personal journey. I had never heard of...More

This is located at the Hali Country Hotel - the other side of the museum is the check-in. We didn't actually visit the museum (free if you are staying at the hotel), but the spectacle of the bookshelf is really cool!

In my opinion one of the top 5 museum buildings in Iceland. The wall shows all Þórbergur's written books. The building it self, is reason enough to visit!

This is a great stop. We enjoyed cappuccinos and a lunch plate. There were exquisite, large scale photos of everything Iceland on all the walls. There is also an exhibition (free!)--it is about a very famous Icelandic author--Thórbergur Thór∂arsson. The exhibition included detailed historical information...More

The center itself is very interesting and worth visiting. We stopped over for lunch and for such a small and distant place I was amazed by the quality of fish - one of the best ones we had in Iceland. If you are not far...More
