This museum is located just in the harbor. Do not miss a very good documentary movie lasting about 1,5 hour. It's a perfect addition to your whale watching tour. The exposition is also very interesting and you even can have a cup of coffee for...More

Húsavik is known for its whale watching cruises, so a visit to the whale museum is well worth while. Allow about 1 to 1.5 hours. Displays and video provide a wealth of information about whales and whaling.

We enjoyed our whale watching trip and then spent a couple of hours in the museum learning about the different species of whales. We had a great time and could of stayed longer but the museum was closing! Lovely place for all ages.

Went to the museum before a whale watching trip. Museum was superb, very interested and informative. Out two teenagers were really captivated. Really hands-on museum and unlimited coffee in a mini-library. Thoroughly recommend.

Very cool exhibits of whale skeletons that show how large these beautiful creatures are. Lots of information on whales and their history. Listen to whales talking.

There is so much information here about whales. The curator of the museum is an expert & he shares his knowledge & is very well spoken. So many things to see. Take some time to stop here.
