This review should be read with the understanding that this was a package (Northern Lights Hunt) made through secret escapes.
Prior to this trip which is on many peoples bucket list the information was sparce. There were also concerns that a volcano was about to erupt and we had no information or updates about this prior to the trip.
Our easy jet flight was early so the transfers which were provided by another company were not there. However they did come earlier than expected and we were transferred to the hotel Klettur. I think a lot of the people in the tour get a basement room so there is no view and there were roadworks going on outside but it was comfortable enough and well situated for the restaurants and bars. At this point I think a welcome email from Snaeland would have been nice and a bit more information about the itinerary.
The next morning we were met by our guide in the hotel reception and we started the tour. The coach was lovely and comfortable and always kept really warm. What we saw over the next three days is too much to describe in this review but included several amazing waterfalls, being able to stand next to a glacier, a lake with icebergs, a seal and geezers.
We stayed in hotel Kria Vik which was lovely and in walking distance of some places to eat. Iceland uses Geo thermal energy so its cheap for heating so everywhere was warm and cosey. We were very lucky with the weather and it did not rain. When we were going from place to place the light would change all the time and the views were spectacular. We went out on the night with the least cloud and drove for about twenty minutes to a dark place in the countryside. The stars were amazing and we were able to see the Northern Lights but only through our mobile phones. Part of the tour which was an extra but was then cancelled was the blue lagoon due to the earthquakes. There was no alternative offered but we did get some money back.
The guide was very knowledgeable he had an amazing dry sense of humor, we bought loads of music and radio to listen too on the trip but did not use it as we were fascinated by all he had to say however sometimes a good morning or something may have been nice. He did not communicate directly with anyone during the trip but I expect that was his way.
So I went on a bucket list trip and did not have two of the main highlights the blue lagoon and the Northern lights. However I have to say this stunning unique country has made a real impression on me. I will never forget what I saw. The amount of amazing things you can see in a short space of time is unbelievable. It is a lot of money to pay for a short break but so worth it even if it parts don't go as planned.

We did two private one day tours, the Golden Circle and South Shore. Our guide Christian was great - really friendly, flexible on the route we did and the sights we wanted to see. Excellent all round

We used Snaeland Travel for airport transfers from Reykjavik International aiport to the cruise terminal, and return. The drivers both ways were very kind and helpful, vehicles comfortable and clean. They were prompt, with name signs - so easy to find, and handled our luggage - very professional. Highly recommend.

Made a tour through TUI Netherlands and Snæland Travel was the company that transported us. The second day of touring with their Super Truck and experience that I will not soon forget. And the rest of the tour with the very sympathetic driver Kristian. A very experienced driver who knows the way well and also transported us safely over the unpaved roads despite having fallen ill during the journey.

I booked our Keflavik to Reykjavik transfer and return through Snaeland, and they were awesome! I corresponded with their office several times before I booked, and they always got back to me promptly. After booking, I had to change our pick up time and location, and again, they replied quickly, letting me know that they had received the information and made the changes to our itinerary. At Keflavik, our driver was waiting for us in the airport when we got out baggage claim. The driver for our return was prompt, friendly, and professional. There were 6 of us traveling together, so the price was very reasonable.

Virtually all our travel in Iceland was with Snaeland. Their drivers were pleasant and helfpful and pick-ups were always on time

Our driver Pall and guide Petur were absolutely fantastic. We learned a lot about the places we visited, and life in Iceland in general, with some great bits of humour along the way.
We had some last minute changes to our trip due to the strikes in Reykjavik but were always kept informed on what was happening.
When we return to Iceland again we will be booking with Snaeland Travel.

Booked this tour for our wedding anniversary. Trip was very well planned and enough time was given at each destination. Driver and the guide were super friendly and funny. Thoroughly enjoyed 3 days. Managed to see northern lights on first night.

My sister and I traveled to Iceland in beginning on December and since we don’t have experience in driving in icy snow covered roads we decided to book a Private vehicle with English speaking driver guide for 5 days, and we were very lucky with our guide Mrs Lena she is a wonderful experienced guide passionate about her work, During these 5 days she took us to many sightseeing places in Iceland and she give us lots of information and tips, she is an excellent guide who really took care of us.

Hi we're booked via TUI for a snowmobile tour - can i use my go pro on the helmets? do i need to bring anything to connect it to the helmet?

I believe that you are providing our to visit secret escapes. I would interested to know how long is spent in the Blue Lagoon. Travelling on March 25th 2018. Also, what sort of clothes would be recommended?

We are trying to determine whether to stay close to the airport or in the city during our trip. We will arrive at KEF at 11pm on a Saturday night and will leave at 12pm on Tuesday. Is it even worth staying downtown?

There is a 45 min drive from KEF airport to Reykjavik and we recommend you to spend your time in Reykjavik city center as there are numerus numbers of nice hotels and restaurants there.
You will as well have a lot of possibilities to spend your time in different actives as excursions, whale watching and other interesting things to do as you can see here at our web page travelreykjavik.
