I realy like this openair museum it gives you a feel how life was back in the days. The gudes are dresse in old cloth and give you a great inside about life back then.

We took the no 16 bus from Hlemmur (main shopping street)to strengur/ Laxakvisl. From there it’s a 5 min walk. Spend a nice 2 hours here looking round the lovely period houses, shops and businesses. Lots of lovely attention to detail and great full exhibitions...More

A small historic village with interesting little buildings. The guides are informative and will answer all your questions, and even funny. Walk around and see how Icelanders lived in the past. Pretty amazing if you like history.

Typical Nordic European plein air museum with reassembled houses coming from Reykjavík and surroundings. Yes, you can do the entire thing yourself, we took a bus there and walked around with the kids. Had a great time and even eavesdropped a bit on some of the other tours that were there. No one seemed to mind!
