    The Place for Icelandic Wool
If you want stuff made in iceland with icelandic wool. this is the place. Some stuff is machine made but most is hand made. There is a ton to look through when you are there, so be prepared to spend some time. While the stuff is pricey, I think was more than reasonable compared to other places

    The Real Deal
If you want an authentic Lopapeysa (wool jumper) this is the where you get the real deal. Handknitted with wool from Icelandic sheep. It's a cramped shop and gets very busy, but the staff are very helpful. The jumpers are expensive, but it is a classic and useful souvenir to take home. Do try the jumpers on, they are handknitted and so the sizing can vary. I am sure I will treasure my Lopapeysa for many years to come.

    Loving my Lopapeysa!
The store is a cozy one near Hallgrimskirkja, perhaps a bit too cozy at times with the number of people trying on the products. However, the staff are friendly and helpful. If anything, at least peek in the store as you might find something you like. If you get inspired and they don't have a sweater in your desired pattern , size , color ,etc. you can always reach out to them and they do make custom orders as I did. Just make sure of the measurements if you do a custom order though. The fit is excellent, works as a great conversation starter, and will keep me warm when outside as winters in Michigan can be brutal. Yes, they are expensive, but these are quality handmade craftsmanlike-quality products (their metal buttons have the logo engraved in them for crying out loud!) made with care and will last for years as a reminder of your time in Iceland. Make sure you get a form with your purchase to receive tax back at the airport when flying home (visit the booth before you check in for your flight). They will help you fill it out.

    Delightful experience.
Had a great time in the shop. I found a pullover sweater that I love. It's so warm. I also purchased some yarn for my mom while there. Wonderful staff, very helpful. Will definitely be back when I'm back in your beautiful country and city. Thank you.

    Calling all wool lovers
If you love all things wool, this is the place to go in Reykjavik. The ladies who make the traditional items for sale are in the shop knitting as you choose from the many different designs and coloured items available to buy. I chose the most beautiful traditional jumper (lopapeysa) that will last decades and keep me warm in the coldest of winters. An investment purchase but you also get a tax refund that you just need to request at the airport - it takes seconds!

    Brilliant Little Shop!
THIS is the place to buy your Lopapeysa or Icelandic wool! The staff were easily available to help you if you needed it, and they completed a tax refund form for us as well so that we could claim our tax back at the airport before leaving Iceland. Their jumpers are all arranged by size and stacked by colour, and the prices are above the jumper shelves. For reference, mine was about £220 which is not terrible for a hand knitted jumper by the Icelandic women. The designs are all similar but you can change the colours from grey to black, to cream or beige. The choice is truly yours. They had a great selection of hats, gloves and socks also. Definitely recommend going here!

    Excellent quality, Excellent service
We wanted to bring sweaters back to the US as souvenirs for our sons. There are gift shops all over Reykjavik selling sweaters, but we wanted traditional, heavy knit, quality sweaters. The Handknitting Association of Iceland store was exactly what we were hoping for. They had some machine knitted seaters, scarves and hats, which were at a lower price point, but they have a back room full of beautiful hand knitted sweaters. The sales staff were really helpful finding sizes and colors for us. They explained that they knit in the round, so you can tell if a sweater is handknitted because it has no seams. We bought 4 sweaters and a hat, and love them all. They will last forever!

    A must for crafting lovers
Bought my first Icelandic sweater here. Would definetely recommend since the shop support local knitters of Iceland! Skip the sweaters in the touristy souvenier shops and get your woolwear here instead.

This is an incredible shop. Bought several things here-sweaters, jewelry, and Christmas ornaments. If was I still crocheting, I would buy some yarn. Picked out colors for them to make me a cardigan which will be shipped to the USA, very helpful staff.

A really great shop to purchase an authentic Icelandic jumper. So many to choose from, but I eventually found one. Also they have lots of different things to buy. And they are all knitted in Iceland

Unfortunately, I didn't have the budget to shop there. Or so I thought. I am now wishing I had bought myself one of those hats. For knitters/crocheters, they have great kits and also skeins of wool. The sweaters were amazing. Very helpful staff.

We absolutely love our sweaters and hats. We went to both locations in Reykjavík and enjoyed each one. We loved that we could find out who made our items.
