The exhibition Points of View at the Culture House takes guests on a journey through the Icelandic visual world of past and present. Artifacts and works of art from the varied collections of six institutions provide a reflection of Iceland's visual art history and cultural heritage. Artists with different backgrounds and living conditions have expressed similar ideas at all times. There are seven points of view to be found in as many wings of the Culture House, connecting what you'll see, independent from the medium or time.

First 1200isk (I couldn't find pricing online). It is mostly art and a few artifacts. I finished the museum in about 20 minutes. It is just not my type of place. It is a strange layout. But the building itself is beautiful.

This is a interesting mix of things related to Iceland. Original Icelandic manuscripts are located on the 1st floor are worth a look. The rest of the building is theme based with the old and new mixed together. About $10 US to enter.

The culture house had amazing items on display, some 1000 years old. But our visit was even more enjoyable due to how the Culture House was organized when we toured: Each room had a theme: Indoor life; outdoor life; death; folklore, etc. We enjoyed our visit tremendously.

It's worth visit after going to National museum or if not having long time in the city. They exhibit old manuscripts and some other things of national culture.

My girlfriend and I (both very interested in science, not art) went to Culture House. It is only worth the admission fee if you're interested in abstract thinking and art. We didn't appreciate it fully but definitely know people who would. Would recommend if you like art.

As we had a city pass for a few days we took in a lot of the museums. Worth the walk and the time to explore as there is lots to see and learn.

Decided to visit on rainy day and we were completely absorbed for an hour or two, and learned a lot about the culture of Iceland and its history. Some innovative displays in a wonderful building. Friendly staff and a nice little shop and cafe. The display about the demise of the Great Auk was very sobering and thought provoking.

The building in which this museum in housed is just gorgeous. I found the exhibit confusing. I think each floor is devoted to one part of Icelandic history, and some of the work is beautiful. Embroidery and some painting and wood work. And there is a Auk skeleton. I think they need better labels and a clearer explanation of what... More

It will take a couple of hours to wander through the various exhibits--some religious, some historic, some about volcanoes, some featuring various artists. It helped give me a sense of Iceland's culture and history.

A very fresh look at centuries of Icelandic culture displayed with wit and all the inventiveness of a contemporary gallery show.
