After being forced to cut our trip short, from 5 days to 1, due to the pending travel ban, we (family of 5 with 3 teenagers) were fortunate to make a quick stop at Laugardalslaug on our way back to the airport. As others have mentioned, very local feeling, and we had the sense that we were the only tourists there. Mid-morning, it was not crowded at all, and the staff was very helpful in getting us set up with towels, instructions, etc. Spent time in the bigger pools, as well as the hot tubs (where more people seemed to congregate). The first evening we visited it was snowing so was a unique experience sitting in 40 degree hot tub with snow on the ground. We noticed this was mostly used by locals, it's part of their culture. At about £6 each it's well worth a visit.…

It's the most popular swimming pool in Iceland, so it's most of the time quite crowded (over the summer time). It's also popular in the winter time but much less though, understandably. It's got a big nice kids area on land and in the pool. 4 hot tubs if I remember correctly and one Ocean tub and one Cold tub.…
