Bleasdell boulder great nature hike
Sep 2019
A hidden giant erratic boulder surrounded by beautiful mature forest and level, well tended trails makes a great short or long hike. The conservation area trail connects to the Lower Trent Trail which is great for hiking or biking. We took a 6 km hike on the connecting trails. Wonderful for dogs and families!

Great little place to take a break.

A one kilometre loop on a very walkable path through the woods that brings you to a HUGE boulder. A must see!

Always an enjoyable walk
May 2019 • Family
Just a short, easy walk to see the boulder. Enjoy reading the history of the boulder and how it got to where it is, whenever we go.

Always enjoyable with family and friends.

Impressive historical significance
Apr 2019 • Family
The story behind the boulder and the significance of how it came to be is impressive and interesting. The hike and trail is nothing great and overall its just a big boulder, but the knowledge that is glacial rock and it was brought by glacial runoff makes for an interesting backstory.
Nice trail to take if you have a free day and want to do an easy activity.

Jul 2018 • Family
The boulder is a great place to get back to nature, people of all ages can enjoy the trails. There are two that loop around, so there is no way you will get lost. Always clean and taken care of as well. Great trip for any season.

From childhood to adulthood - this rock is a part of me!
Apr 2018 • Family
I have been coming to see the Big Rock since I was a child. I have brought my children here, friends and their children - it is so neat to see the rock and learn the history. Over the years the whole area has developed and now there are lovely nature trails and picturesque views - especially if you go around sun set. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area! <3

Don't waste your time. This is not a real tourist attraction. It's just a boulder. It would be exciting if you were allowed to climb on it, but you're not.

Touch a bit of History
Apr 2017
I took my aging golden retriever back to the Bleasdell Boulder so she could run familiar trails once again as my property used to back on to the trail to the boulder. It is a magical place and you can walk a complete circle back to your vehicle over a beaver pond after you have visited the boulder. It is magical how the boulder suddenly appears in the trees and is as big as a house. My golden was so happy to be back in familiar territory and sadly she passed away a month later. I was happy to be able to take her to this beautiful spot once again where we used to walk daily and where I would put my hand on this ancient rock transported here by glacial waters and send up good wishes to all.

Amazing local wonder
Jul 2017 • Family
Never seen anything like it and the history they gave was very interesting. Kids were amazed but maybe a bit to young to understand. If you love conservation areas wildlife and a groomed trail you will love Bleasdell boulder. Take your walking shoes.
