Lovely spot to walk down to if visiting stobo castle. Not sure I would drive out of my way to check it out though. Felt very tranquil!

Well worth a visit if visiting Stobo Castle. Well maintained with an easy circular walk. The Autumn colours were stunning.

Secret Garden

This is a 5 minute walk from the castle. Regardless of weather you can visit thus beautiful place - just make sure you have walking good shoes on as it can be slippy when wet.

The gardens are filled with lots of surprises and the most beautiful old trees and shrubs. There are lots of surprises and nooks and crannies to explore.

This is always the highlight of my visit.

Unusual gardens

A very quiet and restful location with a variety of plants and water features. Quite easy to spend a couple of hours there getting away from it all.

Out of Bounds

The so called Japanese Water Gardens was a reasonable short walk from the Castle but was nothing special. My wife could have managed to walk there, even though has a physical disability and requires a crutch. She would however have not managed the rough pathway through this water garden

Japanese Water Garden Delights

Beautiful scenery, very relaxing. Is a must if you’re visiting Stobo castle. Walk through the trees and listen to the waterfalls, either take the wooden bridges or the stepping stone dams.

this is at its best when the rhododendrons are out. However it is a beautiful walk to the loch and around the waterfalls. Sturdy walking shoes needed
