Google told us that the average visitor spent two hours here but I think we could have stayed even longer. Lots of different species of water fowl and lots of activities for children. Sadly did not have time to go up the observational tower as we discovered it was closed even though it was still 30 mins before closing time,... More

We have been members of slimbridge for over 10 years and decided for half term to visit with some friends. We usually take a picnic but decided to eat in the restaurant. It was busy so we expected a wait however much preferred when the restaurant served food straight from the counter. I ordered 2 hotdogs for the children which... More

Visited as a group of 6 adults on the way back from holiday in Forest of Dean, I last visited in the 1960s and it has unsurprisingly changed out of all recognition. I didn't think it was particularly well signposted from A38 but we found it easy enough. Big car park with easy access to the reception. We bought tickets... More

Visited at the weekend when it was really cold. Great views over the whole centre and the estuary from the observatory tower. Too cold to spend long outside but will definitely return later in the year to look around more. Lots inside the visitor centre for younger children - reptile displays, colouring sheets and a play area. The swan feeding... More

First visit to Slimbridge. I went back in junior school so don't remember what it used to be like. A very long time ago! Had a nice day, with the weather being so cold, we did go round quicker than we had wanted. Unfortunately the flamingos weren't out, the tropical house was closed and there was no feeding. That would... More

We visited during half term which wasn't that busy considering it was a nice day! It cost £28 for 2 adults and 3 children (2 of the children were free) which I thought was great value for money. There was lots to see and do inside the visitor centre including a small softplay area and café. There was also a... More

Slimbridge Wetlands Centre is a great place to visit for anyone interested in wildlife and birds in particular. On a busy day it's easy to escape the crowds by visiting the hides and areas on the fringes. There's usually some interesting birds to see. There's a good cafe there and plenty of free car parking.

We have been visiting WWT Slimbridge for years now, and have moved on from just visiting to avid bird watching all year round. The views from the Kingfisher and Zeiss hide of wintering wild birds is spectacular and you can watch the cranes which were born and raised at Slimbridge from the Holden Tower, along with the famous White Fronted... Don't let the cold or the rain put you off - just wrap up warm. Great day out, lovely clean facilities and the kids LOVED the puddle splashing competition ! On a down side the restaurant was flippin expensive .... for a warm and positively average jacket spud and a hot chocolate it was £10 ....We had 6 to feed... More

Just got back from an amazing floodlit evening feed with swans, geese and ducks flying in, floodlit from below, the swans looking like groups of concords coming into land. They paddle their feet to agitate the food on the bottom of the pond The greylag geese are cheeky and adorable. There is a very informative talk about the work of... More
