    Day trip to Gozo
Took the 10.30 am ferry from Sliema. Bit of a wait for the bus to Cittadella but fair commentary on the way. Only drawback was timings - we wanted to go to the Neolithic ruins Gigantia but were going to miss the last fast ferry. However, the ferry apparently waits for the bus so we could have made it if we had asked or been told!

    Gozo Ferry
The local bus dropped us off straight outside the terminal building, the ferries are very frequent and the cost is very reasonable at €4.65 round trip. There is an outdoor seating area and a very affordable cafe serving the usual snacks and beverages including alcohol. There are onboard toilets and the journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes. The terminal in Gozo gives you the option of two hop on hop off bus companies to chose from or you can make your own way around the island.

Great for seeing Gozo on foot or by car.
Great ferry - easy to use to get over to Gozo. Only complaint would be the lack of clarity around tickets on the outgoing journey. You do not need to buy a ticket from Malta to Gozo, you are charged on the return at the ticket booths located on the ramp up to the ferry itself. All of this could have been made a lot clearer - as it was actually loads simpler than I had imagined……

    Very good service
a service that improves from year to year. Crossings are generally fast; however, note that some ferries do not allow cars. There are catering and snack options available inside, best option to visit Gozo otherwise you can use private boat but more expensive

    Efficient and smooth
Arrived at the port with the bus which dropped passengers directly outside terminal building. It was a quick walk through onto the ferry for Gozo, no payment taken at this time. The ferry was clean and the ride smooth. There are stairs at the terminals. The return journey was just as efficient with payment taken at Gozo port. The day we travelled the weather was calm and sunny so no issues with delays or cancellations.

    Fast reliable and affordable service
The best connection option between main Island and Gozo. It is used by locals and tourist. Friendly stuff ready to help you with heavy luggage or provide necessary information. If you have time, it suggest to book your tickets online as they offer additional discounts. We used it couple of times during our vacation and found its been reliable.

    Can’t fault it
We took our hire car over to Gozo for the afternoon on the ferry. Very efficient, on time, modern & clean with a cafe & shop on board. Great views from the top deck of the surrounding islands. Good value for money and a super easy way of getting to Gozo.

    Really easy to use transport
So easy to use, quick and very clean boats. C€20 for a return for a family with a car. You pay when you come back from Gozo. There are 3 ferries per hour at the peak times, so all v easy.

    Excellent service
Easy to use, quick, efficient, cheap and reliable. We used the ferry for a day trip as foot passengers and it couldn't have been easier. Less than €5 each return. There was plenty of seating available and the snack bar was very reasonably priced. Less than €10 for 2 soft drinks and 2 giant cookies.

    Smooth and Scenic Journey!
The Gozo Ferry is fantastic! The ride is smooth, with stunning views of the Maltese islands and the crystal-clear sea. The service is efficient, and the ferries are clean and well-maintained. A relaxing and enjoyable way to travel between Malta and Gozo.

During my visit to Malta, I went Island hopping to Gozo, which is part of the Maltese archipelago. Gozo is the second largest of the seven island chain & basks in the Mediterranean off the coast of Sicily. More rural than its sister island, Malta, Gozo has a population of 31,000.
Inhabited for thousands of years, it shows evidence of historic immigration & rule by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, French & British, among others. It’s known for The Citadel, fortified city in the heart of Victoria on Gozo. Rich in history & with amazing views of virtually the entire island. Lots to explore such as, Neolithic Ġgantija Temple ruins, Azure window, Ramla Bay the only sandy beach and much more.
Take a ferry ride with spectacular views from Cirkewwa to Gozo. It takes around 20 minutes & ferries operate every 45 minutes, costing around less than 20 Euros for car & passenger return. One island not to be missed.

Travelled to Gozo via ferry from Cirkewwa in Malta , queueing for ferry a bit mad as you queue to get into a room first which holds the people boarding the next ferry which comes every 15/20 min then queue to get on ferry, take it all with a pinch of salt and smile, also tour operators trying to sell tours of Gozo island to you. Well my wife and decided we would just wait an hour or two on island so did not avail of these tours. Once we arrived on Gozo port we walked up the hill and were approached by an elderly taxi driver who offered to bring us round the whole island on a guided tour for 80 euro, we agreed and spent the next 4 hours being chauffeured round the island visiting numerous sights that would never be seen on any tourist bus trip. Visited churches, went out to sea to see caves, had lunch in Pierres (Fantastic Seaside Restaurant) overlooking Marsalforn Bay, visited craft centres, underground caves (Sherries) , views of Sicily plus a lot more. This man was so passionate about the island having lived there all his life and was great company, no rush.
So if you do go to Gozo , try the local taxi drivers for a wonderful day out to remember.

Very fast and efficient service, only a short wait to get on to the ferry and takes about half an hour (you pay the fare on your return). The only hair-raising moment was when I was directed to drive up the ramp in my tiny little car and it started to roll backwards! You have to wear a mask onboard due to COVID restrictions, but this isn't too bad if you sit on the deck and is only for a short time as you can take it off once you are back in your car. Amazing views coming into to Mgarr Port in Gozo, and spectacular sunset from the ferry on the way back to Malta.

We took this ferry to Gozo and back in late December 2021, at the start of Malta's Omicron wave. Once you are on the ferry itself, there are plenty of places outside (on the "sun deck" of the ferry) to sit, stand, and enjoy the views of the Gozo Ferry. However, on both the Malta side and the Gozo side, you wait for the ferry in a fully indoor waiting room and you board the ferry through a fully indoor passageway. Especially on the Mgarr/Gozo side, the waiting room is small and fills up with a lot of passengers, making social distancing is impossible. We tested negative for COVID at the end of our Malta trip, but the waiting room for the ferry at Mgarr was probably the biggest COVID risk of our entire trip.

As far as the actual trip, we took this ferry on an extremely windy day and it didn't feel choppy, we didn't get seasick. It is a big boat and easily stands up to Malta's worst weather.

Great Ferry if not a little laid back, drove straight on board but was not given direction on parking so had to wait and follow others parking cars.

Once on board it was a quick and easy crossing which took about 20 minutes with the added bonus of a cafe and toilets.

The car and one passenger cost about 20 Euros return.

Very reliable when traveling between Malta and gozo they even put extra ferries on at peak times. We travelled on the Greek one on the way over but found it to be very full and awkward to get off. It takes a little longer than the other ferry to disembark. Would definitely prefer the gozian ferry.

We opted to do a short trip as we were meeting friends for lunch so we got on the GREEN BUS.
There were no earphones given out and we couldn't find any, even tho some people had them.
The driver didn't tell us what number stop we were at.
It was the worst hop on trip I have been on...and I've done a lot.
If you have a bad back it's a terrible ride!! Gozo council are strangers to tarmac!!! Even my teeth hurt when I got off!

Efficient and inexpensive regular service. The ferries leave every half and hour or so. From Malta you drive to the very north of the island and just get in the queue. Payment is collected for the round trip upon your return journey at the port in Gozo. The cost for a car and driver is about €25 return. Additional passengers pay the same rate as pedestrians who have arrived using public transport.

Goes every 30 minutes and is pretty well organised. If you want a seat on the deck you need to board speedily. Only takes about 20 minutes to cross. Pretty views on the journey each way. Can use toilets or get a coffee on board.
