Don't miss the video presentation

Beautiful fort overlooking most of the island. The video in the visitor's center is worth the visit, it's a 360 degrees insight on the history of the castle, it's free too.

Worth a visit, steeped in history and a great atmosphere here. It would have been great to spend longer here however we were on a time scheduled island bus tour. A nice place to be.

The cathedral in The Citadel is wonderful, although churches are not at the top of the 'to visit' list, this is worth it. The floor is covered with really interesting tombstones, highly decorated. The whole cathedral is interesting, and admission also gives you entry to the small museum behind, which houses an eclectic collection, worth spending a little time in.... More

We started the tour of the site on the lower level where there is a small museum depicting the history of the place. Free entry. We went to the next floor where we passed by the court is still active and the old prison next to it. We went to the prison, where you can see how the prisoners lived... More

The restoration project of the Cittadella in Gozo has no doubt been a massive and daunting job. The results are very, very good and inspiring. The visitor's centre is a great starting point and also free!!!...The views from the bastions are superb and the tour around this historical gem is a very authentic and atmospheric historical experience. Of great interest... More

We returned to the Citadel several times during our stay. The ancient prison and the accommodations within were 2 of the points of interest within. The big attraction is the view of the Island of Gozo. See the Mediterranean in every direction and appreciate the history, challenges and independent nature of Gozo's people. Yes they're Maltese but moreso they're Gozitans... More

This magical place is too special for us. Whenever we visit Gozo it's a must to visit more than once! And with the latest renovations it's even more special! :)
