Beautiful church

This church looks relatively simple outside but is beautiful and intricate inside. Lovely decorative detailing & artwork make this church inside a must-see.

This church has amazing paintings, dome and windows. It's free to get in and wonderfully peaceful to sit for a bit.

St George's Basilica lies right in the heart of Victoria 'old town' surrounded by a maze of quaint little streets and ally ways. It stands in a beautiful square from where one can see the glory of the exterior and the wonderful bronze ornate door of the church. It is definitely worth entering to view the interior with its numerous... More

This is old and full of history. In the square there are loads of places to eat and next door is a hand made chocolatier at work. The doors are beautiful and ornate and because it's slightly hidden behind Victoria square it's more quaint. A worthwhile visit.

Our tour group went to the citadel, but I didn't feel like the climb so I walked around town. I discovered the church and had to take a look. Just by the beautifully carved door, I could tell that it was going to be amazing. It was! Very ornate and colourful! It was also nice and cool inside. I was... More

Like Malta, Gozo is dotted with churches and some tourists enjoy visiting them. This is an average church as an attraction. Ta Pinu church, the Citadel, Gantija and the beaches are the better places to visit whilst in Gozo.

Beautiful church. Lit a candle and was helped to place it. Peaceful and serene. However, the bells are rung randomly and were a source of entertainment!

This Basilica is well worth a visit. Unlike the UK (where a visit to St Paul's will cost you around £15) the entrance was free of charge. The cost of using the lift 3 Euro's to visit the dome was such good value and the guide (a lady) was so helpful.

Such a beautiful Serene church. What I loved most, aside from its stunning facade and interior, is the fact that it was full of locals coming and going just like tourists. They made me feel so welcoming. Such a warm and reverend place. Gorgeous and innate, venerable and full of history and character. A lovely, lovely church.
