Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is not open to the public. The long walk is to an island that is privately owned and is basically a giant field with lots of rubbish and dog poop from all the local dog walkers.

There is also a business/factory of some sort on the island. Which ruins it from it being a nice walking beauty spot.

You can't access the Fort. There is nothing worth seeing on the island. Save your time and skip the destination as the locals won't tell you it is closed and you will spend hours confused and wandering for no reason.

I drove up to the fort but there was no way to access it from the road as it's a dead end, maybe on open days you can get past but I'm not sure. If I'd had more time I would have got out and explored on foot. On the drive up to the Fort through Manoel Island you pass the bizarre Duck Village which is worth a look! The island is a great place to park to walk along the Sliema promenade with views over to Valletta.

Not open to public. Preservation in progress .Popular with dog walkers. Walk left, view Sliema waterfront. Ends in Office and view. Walk right ,ends at magnificent gateway and view over Valetta waterfront.
Good way to spend a spare hour. and get to see a little greenery.
No facilities.

The fort was badly damaged by the German and Italian bombing during the war, it overlooks the area where the British submarines restocked their torpedoes, to attack supply ships heading to Rommel's Afrika Corp in Libya.
Midi have been restoring this Hospitaller Fort since 2000, is only open one day a month, and one day a year the Roman 10th legion of Malta reenactment group put on a display, with audience participation. .#LegXFretMlt .

The island is the interesting place. There's the atmosphere of the "ghost place". Houses are destroyed, many cats, everything dirty.
You can see view on the Sliema and Valetta.
The pity, that the fortress is close...regarding the pictures inside it looks amazing...unbelievable like something so good looking can be on this devastated dirty island.

If you want somewhere nice and quiet to go swimming, or even a walk around, this island is great. There's lots of rocks going into the water where locals go and swim and it's away from the crazy busy places like blue lagoon etc.

There's lots and lots of cats here in the evening too so we enjoyed looking out for them as well as a section called "duck island"

Some great uninterrupted views of Valetta famous skyline

This fort is still undergoing restoration, but is open one day each month. The work done so far is terrific, especially in the chapel. The crypt is intact. Much of the fort was destroyed in WW2,as it was used by the British forces. The views over to Valletta are spectacular. Really enjoyed our visit, and look forward to seeing it when further work has been done.

Highly recommended, history location and views were stunning,
there is no public buses to take you right to the door, you need to alight on the main road, walk up past duck village,or get a taxi to the security hut, who will then guide you to the two entrances, got to admit the rear entrance is much better and opens up onto a large balcony with steps that lead right down to the the seashore with a beautiful view of Valletta.
