From time to time the curator at Palazzo Falson in the beautiful Madeavil city of Mdina holds mini exhibitions which are free of charge. These are held just at the side of the entrance and a great deal of thought goes into them even if they are displayed in a very small room. The latest which closes on the 27th... More

Palazzo Falson museum is tucked away in the Mdina Old City. It displays the interior of a well preserved home of a wealthy 19th century Maltese man. The rooms and collection of decorative arts are interesting and well presented. An audioguide is included in the ticket price and gives a brief overview of what you see in each room. Individual... The building alone would be worth a journey even if it wasn't set in Mdina, which is itself a "must visit" location in Malta. The pleasant surprise is that the building houses a series of collections put together by a discerning (and wealthy) man. Whether it's timepieces, paintings, armour, kitchen utensils, snuffboxes etc. etc. each collection that you see as... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the Palazzo Falson, and the visit is helped by an informative and light-hearted audio commentary which brings to life the Palazzo when it was a home. The building is lovely and contains the eclectic collection of its last owner - a veritable Cabinet of Curiosities. We particularly liked the tiles and pottery in the kitchen, the maritime... More

Besides the Palazzo, which is an architectural gem, there are a lot to see in the different collections - furniture, art, coins, etc. It is worth to visit.

Yes, it is one of the oldest houses in the old city and has a lot of history. There are no many places to visit in Mdina and so we filled our time by visiting this house. It was a relatively expensive entry fee and there was nothing much to see. You would not be missing much by just walking... More

An interesting glimpse into an old house and home to Olof Gullcher, a painter and collector. The entrance ticket includes a fairly general audio guide. I would have liked more detail. There are plenty of things to see in the Collection like armoury, silverware, jewellery and the artist's studio. Unfortunately the roof top Cafe was closed for renovation when I... More

Using the headphone guide and pointing it at points around the house we saw furniture, art and room settings of the highest quality.
