Whenever we go to Rabat, we make it a point to visit Mdina which was Malta's old city. The architecture is medieval. Needless to say, there are no words to express the splendor and majestic Metropolitan Cathedral which is worth viewing.

This is definitely one of the MUST see cathedrals of the 360 in Malta . a fantastic display over the Christmas holidays left me at complete awe .... the attention to detail on the miniatures is just breathtakingly beautiful...

The Metropolitan Cathedral is a must-visit when you go to Mdina - the Silent City! That cathedral was built on the remains of a Norman church, destroyed by an earthquake in the end of the 17th century. It was dedicated to St Paul, the Apostle who founded the Church in Malta, after his ship wrecked by the coast of Malta... More

The ticket for this venue also includes the museum - do make sure you take the opportunity to visit this as well. The cathedral contains beautiful mouldings and paintings and don't miss the high-up stained glass windows which have great colourings.

Whether you have faith or not, this is a truly inspiring building. The artwork alone is worth the visit, but look upwards and admire the murals and frescos. Not the largest of cathedrals, but certainly impressive. Well worth the visit.

This beautiful Cathedral exceeds expectations! Don;t miss the stunning mozaics on the floor and come early - they close by 4pm. Also, try to visit the museum next door.

Disappointed how commercial the approach here was. Have never been denied entry to a church in Malta until we came here. Normally I would happily pay a gratuity unasked- but the belligerent approach really pissed me off

We visited the museum first, there is a lot to see and well worth taking time over. Some fantastic silver, with some very old pieces. A good amount of pictures on the first floor. We then went across the square to the Cathedral. A very interesting building, in some ways looking more like a formal hall than a church, perhaps... More
