Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visit the grotto where Paul stayed for 3 months after being ship wrecked in Malta. He had already performed miracles and he healing and was well received by the local residents.

Interesting trip to the Basilica, catacombs and grotto.

As you walk around trying not to bang your head, you get to realise how big the olace us. The time and manpower that was needed to cut into the stone to make the tunnels and rooms must have been large.
It's sad to think people had to dig out their own room to survive the bombing.

First of all, this isn't the main catacombs attraction in the area (we thought it was when we arrived). Really interesting shrine and some interesting catacombs too- all connected so you didn't have to walk up and down all the time. Good for 60-90 minutes event

Best attraction in Rabat. Impressive and very original. Advised a visit, just in summer better in late afternoon for avoiding heat.

Very moving to think that one of the Apostles lived in this cave and his work played a key role in the Christian journey of Malta. For me as a Christian it was the highlight of my visit to Malta

The grotto is part of the Wignacourt Museum and the museum ticket also includes the grotto, catacombs, WW2 shelters. The grotto itself is a very austere area, though there are more elaborate alters adjacent to it.

St Paul's grotto is the site to see in Malta if you are a christian or if you are fascinated by christian history. This site is supposedly the cave that Paul took refuge in while shipwrecked on the island. He was bitten by a serpent and took refuge in this cave. It's really cool to see this cave and to think about the events that took place there. You can read about Paul's journey in the book of Acts from the New Testament of the Holy Bible. The actual grotto is pretty cool and there's a special feeling there. The museum is also worth seeing with some cool catholic artifacts and paintings. I've been to Malta twice and both times and made sure to visit this area of Malta because of the history.

I don't know why they list St. Paul's Catacombs, Grotto & Museum separately because they're all in the same place and one ticket gets you into all three. They are extremely proud that several popes have visited and you'll see this in the Grotto - several pictures and tributes to Pope John Paul. It's very relaxing and enjoyable since you can rest after visiting the catacombs.
