Worth watching
Aug 2018
We took the time to view this film at the Emassy Centre in Malta. It was a very simple explanation of the history of Malta and particularly the founding of Valletta. Definitely worth watching. Ran for about 35 minutes.

Disappointed
Aug 2018 • Couples
We went to the 13:00 showing today 23/8 only to be told by the girl ( with a smile) selling tickets that it wasn’t going to be shown again today!
The board outside said “Showing everyday at.....”.
As today was the only day we will be visiting Valletta we were more than disappointed.
It was a shame as .Valletta is a beautiful city.

the worst movie I've ever seen

The worst movie I've ever seen. Shame, embarrassment, low budget, horrible acting. I never seen anything like this.

Even though we'd already seen the 5D and Malta Experience presentations we found this very worth while. It's very well filmed and presented and gives a slightly different slant to the others. When my wife and I were there (mid-December) we were the only ones in the theatre. Nice for us, as we could choose our seats, but a shame for the theatre. Perhaps it gets overlooked by visitors because it's at the top of a shopping centre, which is itself tucked away in a side street from Republic Street. That's a pity, as it's probably the best introduction to Malta's history. So if you're planning a trip, be sure to seek this out and plan the time for your visit because, as other reviews have mentioned, there are a limited number of performances each day.

entertaining informative experience

Great way of finding out about the history of Malta. Very entertaining and not too long. The traumatic history of Malta through all its conquests and sieges and wars relayed through a cinematic format. Well worth seeing.

Theatrically thrilling !

Easy to find (Embassy Shopping Centre) . Lovely staff . Very few people which is a pity as great introduction to the city and its history. Kids will love it !
Entrance is 7 euros but included in the Malta Pass . In fact , I devoted much of day 3 in Valletta to enjoy the 3 audio visual delights which were included in the Malta Pass plus the Casa Rocca Piccola. Please take advantage of the Malta Pass and the Heritage Pass especially if you are a family.

Cinema type film history
Nov 2016 • Couples
Saw this advertised in the main shopping street in Valetta and investigated a bit further. As previously stated this film is actually shown in the cinema on the top floor of the Embassy shopping centre. Costs 7 euros each for adults and lasts about 35 minutes. The film itself is available in 7 or 8 languages via headphones and is quite a good watch. It charts the history of Valletta from the times of the order of the knights in 1530 through to 2004 when Malta joined the EU. I found it quite informative and it was told in a relaxed manner almost like a tour guide showing someone round the city and giving a brief history as they go. It uses period drama adaptation's and actual news footage from various sources. The only downside being that it is only shown a few times a day with the last yesterday (when we saw it) being 3.15pm. If you have a hour to spare it's worth a view.
As far as I'm aware you wouldn't need to prebook as there was only 4 people into the showing we went to

Cinema-esk introduction to Valletta
Sep 2016 • Couples
Located in the Embassy shopping complex off St lucia street, this is a cinema experience that takes around 35 minutes and takes the viewer through Valletta past, from early settlers and the great siege too the heavy bombing of ww2. This is a good introduction to Valletta and worth visiting before seeing the rest of the city. Show times are every 45 minutes starting from 10AM till 3:15PM.

Valletta History
Jun 2016 • Family
Of the many shows in Valletta recounting Maltese history, we chose Valletta Living History at 7 euros entry fee. It is in the form of a movie, shown in a cinema. Actors re-create the historical episodes in Maltese history from pre-historic times onward. A great introduction for those who have little knowledge of the past and quite entertaining for those who do know the history. We were very pleased with our decision to watch the show. It runs for about 30 minutes.
