You can get a device similar to a mobile phone and press the number of the exhibit you want to learn more information! It is not a big museum but for the price of 6 euro or less if you are a student, it is a must see place! Also, the personnel is friendly to the tourists!!

Check before you visit - only the armoury was open when I visited. The palace is being spruced up for the 2017/18 celebrations and events.

Really wanted to view the Palace Rooms, but sadly they were closed when we visited and only the armoury was available for viewing, so gave it a miss.

Dominating Palace Square, the Grand Master's Palace has always been the house of government in Malta, first by the knights, then the British and now hosts the President’s office. In the interior of the palace is the famous Council Chamber, adorned with valuable Gobelins tapestries woven in France for Grand Master Ramón Perellos y Roccaf. The other rooms and passages of... Very interesting collection of armour and weapons. Shame the rest of the buildings were closed for refurbishment.

Undoubtedly a great place to visit when fully open, but distinctly underwhelming when most of the Palace is closed for restoration. Only the Armoury was left to see and like most similar museums, there was a lot of metal on show, but very little pizzazz to engage the visitor. The rooms are gloomy, the presentation mainly lacklustre and the captioning... More

Fourth time in Valletta in three years, but we had never previously managed to make time to go here. It gets a fleeting mention in the guide books and on web sites, and having visited now, I understand why. State rooms were totally underwhelming, bland, dull, poorly lit and contained little of interest. The Armoury is basically two large rooms... More

Anticipating Malta's EU presidency, the grand rooms of the palace are closed for renovation. The armory is open.
