Nice view and nice location, for small kids a playground however besides from the view it is a pretty regular location to visit. Nice place to fit in a walk and to combine it with more sightseeing.

The Malta Experience
Oct 2019
Video presentation of the history of Malta from 5000 BC until the present day. Well done and interesting but mostly a history of war not much on the social life of the people. This was followed by a guided tour of the Hospital of the Knights of St John which was a little disappointing because it is now a conference center and wedding reception venue and there is very little left of the original hospital.

Fantastic telling of history

My sister and myself went to Mdina to see the story of the Knights. What a great experience. After watching a really informative 3D film, we were then directed through a timeline of the Order. Absolutely fascinating and well worth the €6.50 entrance fee.
We also did the Mdina dungeons, again a snip at €5 and very enlightening.
If you go to Malta this is a must-see, suitable for everyone. And if you're a history buff like me, it's spot on!

Tourist Spot with history and views
Aug 2019
The Great Siege of Malta and the Knights of St. John at Republic Square is a good tourist spot where you can learn more on the history of Malta as well as taking nice photos around. Take a cup of coffee to relax and enjoy if you have time.

See this along with the Malta experience

It's an interesting monument but better if sen after you have watched The Malta experience. The history of the siege is really interesting as is the War Museum close by.You can buy a ticket which includes the Malta experience, the hospital, the fort and the war museum and you don't have to do them all on the same day.

Nice monument

This monument to one of the great battle resistance is duly well marked here. Led by Jean de Valette, the Knights of Malta held up the Ottomans in 1565 - even though they did not have a proper army.

Not quite sure what people are reviewing

The history of the siege is great and to be honest the Malta experience gives you a very good brief understanding, the St angelo presentation even more so. If you want the real storey buy one of the books it gives you far more information. People seem to be reviewing the memorial bell which has nothing to do with the great siege

So much to learn....

The history of Malta is fascinating, but not for review here. Go and learn about it at this wonderful experience. The Knights did a wonderful job back in the day, but so much has changed, more than most European countries since the. It’s only 40 years since the British left! Learn and enjoy.
