The Majestic Dome of The Carmelite Church in Valletta is a prominent feature of The Valletta Skyline, especially when seen from Gzira/Sliema across Marsamxett Harbour. The inside of The Church has reached its full completion only last year after long years of work. The beautiful...More

The original Carmelite church was destroyed in WW 2 and this one is the result of the rebuilding effort. It is very pretty with red columns around a circular layout. The interior is very nice and worth seeing but the entrance is not easily found...More

Visited the church today. It has a large dome. It is also very beautiful inside. The outside is on a narrow street.

The main church interior was rebuilt after the war, though the outer walls appear to be from an earlier rebuild in the mid nineteenth century.

My understanding is that the basilica was badly damaged in WW2 from the Axis bombing. Restored nicely; but I am sure it was beautiful before the damage.

Stunning floors and red marble. Not many tourists which is nice. Most churches close at lunch time and reopens 1530

Having seen the dome of this church from across the harbour, we made the effort to track it down. Once you adventure into the narrow streets in the area it is not obvious where the church is but once you find it and go inside...More

This was on my list as I spotted the magnificent dome from the ferry . Inside it is so beautiful. It was built in the 1950’s much newer than so many other churches we have seen but truly beautiful and worth the visit.

Well worth a visit, it has a beautiful dome roof and alter. A lovely piece of calm on a busy and hot day.
