The square is dominated by the open-air Royal Opera House, or Royal Theatre, the redesigned ruins of the once most beautiful and iconic building in Valletta, wchi now looks like an unfinished construction site.

We saw Cliff Zammit Stevens in concert with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra & Animae Gospel Choir one evening. The atmosphere was fantastic. Excellent!!

Spectacular shows...superb sound...fantastic light effects. Seating was spacious with good foot space. It is a must that one should visit this open-air theater

Destroyed and never fully rebuilt since being bombed in ww2, this was the most elaborate opera house in Malta. Now restored enough so that you can see they old/new together, they do shows and concerts here
