Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We found St. Catherine church on our way to Castille Square. Just before entering we heard amazing guitar music and singing and decided that it is obviously some concert. But inside we found out that it was the communion song which everybody sang along while most of the people went towards altar. Very touching service, I wish to hear that song again!

The church of St. Catherine was built during the 16th century close to the "Auberge d'Italie", and it underwent a major renovation from 2001 to 2011. It has paintings in the cupola above the main altar by Leonardo Romeo, directed by Mattia Preti. The altarpiece depicts the Martyrdom of St. Catherine of Alexandria, and it was painted by Mattia preti (also called The Calabrian Knight).
The church is seldom open - I visited it on a Sunday morning, but the best part remain the outside.

The church opposite the much better known "Our Lady of Victories Chapel" is the roman catholic church of St Christina. Its smaller and lacks the rich decorations of "Our lady" but its nice, too. During the rule of the maltese orders it was the home of italian crusaders. Today its the church of the italian expats. Italians are the biggest expat community in Malta. The church's chandelier is a very fine maltese man, married to an italian woman. He explained me the history of the church. First we talked in english, later in italian.

There is a church of every denomination in Valletta but this is quite lovely - a peaceful study in grey. A quiet few minutes away from the main thoroughfares is worth while.

Although this is only a small church, it was the most spiritual of all the churches we visited. The domed ceiling has been beautifully refurbished, and is not ostentatious like the majority of the churches and Cathedrals in Valletta; a lovely church for local parishioners to attend and for visitors to find a quiet moment to contemplate.

This little church is one of the oldest on the island of Malta. Has recently been extensively renovated. Worth a visit, since it is a little gem.
